Who says you need to hit the ball to win? ULL beats TXST 2-0 with 1 hit... TXST leaves 10 stranded including bases loaded in the 9th.

Big end to the conference schedule up for UTA. After looking like a turd to start conference play (1-5), they have put together a nice stretch. One final road conference series next weekend at UALR. After that, they have a three-game set at home against Western Kentucky to settle the tie for 4th. Then the next weekend a three-game series versus Texas State, who is only one game up for third. Good opportunity of moving up the standings ahead of them.

Sadly, they have three remaining games out of conference, but only TCU is a DI school. It is on the road, so it would help the RPI score, but too little too late at this point.

Then the 1 hit was a bunt. I think the Cajuns also stranded 10. TXST pitching was outstanding this weekend. I bet alot of UL batting averages dropped this weekend.

I didn't think there was a pitching staff in the Country that could hold the Cajuns to 1 hit, the way UL has been hitting the ball and all the extra base hits they've gotten.

Loved the intensity of this series! Texas State came in and challenged the Cajuns from the first pitch. Cajuns had to pick themselves off the ground after Saturday and find a way to win.

That game was lost by our SS. Kid is good but I would bet money (j/k) he has the worst fielding percentage in TXST baseball history.

If he is that bad that he could have the worst fielding percentage in TXST Baseball history, then I'd blame the loss on the Coach for having him in the game.

I think that game was lost more because of the 0 runs. You can't win if you don't score. That's why it's a team sport.

Robe is also staring a 4 game suspension in the face. He was called out of the dugout by the home plate umpire to discuss a call reversal which went against the Cajuns allowing the inning to continue with TxSt still at bat. The argument got heated and supposedly there was contact made between the ump Don Hudson and Robe. Robe was tossed for bumping an ump, but it sure as hell looked like it was the other way around. Hudson was very animated and to me it appeared that Hudson bumped into Robe. Either way it is a 4 game suspension from the NCAA and apparently not open for the appeal process.

This one bush league move by a horrible umpiring crew could really hurt the Cajuns in their quest for a national seed.

If you view a video of the argument it is incidental contact of their arms ...barely. Umpire was something else. Had no bearing on the outcome of the game but the league needs better officiating than that

I agree that the game was already won by the Bobcats, but it could affect the next three games against SLU and stAte. Robe should have went Wally Blackmon on him.

If you want my opinion, the call was wrong to begin with but, as we don't have replay, it should have stood and let the game go on. The 1B ump had no business caving in; even if it was for my Bobcats.

You're absolutely right it had no bearing on the final score and what we get is a mess for the Cajuns.

Your comments are dead on! The first base umpire Faulks made the call and should have stuck with it. There is no review, he is not an umpire in MLB. There actually is a video of the whole incident on ESPN and the play was so close, either call could have been made. As for the umpire Hudson, you can judge the video yourself if Robichaux bumped him.

Geez Cajuns, are you guys in a giving mood. I have been looking for good heckling material for this weekend, and good ole Robicheaux provides it for me.

I was surprised when he was thrown out because I thought it was a bad call and he should be out there arguing but I guess a bump is a bump and you can't do that.
