I have great respect for Arkansas St. and feel we have lot's of similarities. They have really built their program and unfortunately seem to always have our number. Their fans are always very respectful and we have a long history together. I also like Troy because we seem to always beat them in football, even when they are the best in the conference, and I feel the two of us are probably tied at the hip, as neither one of us the student population or media market to move to other conferences anytime soon. They do a lot with a little as well and also, at least for a while, were considered "Giant Killers". Also, I love Texas St.'s campus, and women :), and think they are a great addition to the conference, that we have a lot of tradition with. UL-L, is really building a great program and is clearly program wise #2 in the state right now, but sorry I still can't stand you guys. At least we won in football this year and split the basketball series.

Market wise we are small. But student population wise Troy is one of the larger SBC schools with 30k students in our system.

That number is accurate when it comes to all thr Troy campuses. We are at 7500 tops on the main campus.

I like ULL because their fans know how to be fans! Good people down there. Arkansas St has really improved their gameday atmosphere in the past few seasons. I look forward to the trips to Statesboro and Boone.

Toss up between App St., Ga. Southern, and Texas St. (I love their star...I think it is bad ass!)

This poll is flawed in that you can't see who voted for who. I think a few people with less popular programs voted for their own school.

I can see... And actually the only school that has voted for themselves is ULL for the most part... 5 ULL posters voted for ULL... Go figure.....

^Haha, that's funny, especially considering who the reply is to.

I picked stAte due in large part to our history together and the level-headed mess of their fans. I started to go with TXST, but every time they have some success, there is always a twinge of jealousy.

RE: Who's your 2nd fav SBC program?
Wow, we are just as popular as GAST.

And less popular than Idaho and NMSU.

I picked Ark State I guess because of some history with them and they are not on our "side" of the conference.

Didn't want to pick a team from the East.
I would have picked ULM - I don't really know why, just something about them I like. The win over Arkansas and the Auburn game. I watched that Auburn and sort of knew what they were going through on a few calls from the SEC officials. The old pick the ball up on my right foot to wipe it off and place it down on my left foot (further up field)- Then measure for the 1st down.. It was really hard to believe what I was seeing. Not hard to believe they do it (first hand knowledge) - but that it was so obvious on camera.

I want App to do very good. wait.. I think I just threw up a little in my mouth 03-wink , at least at first to prove that we both belong here.
But cant say they would be my 2nd favorite in the league.

I like the image and a lot about the Rajin Cajuns but my experience with some of those that post on this board has got me placing them just behind GAST. Which would be last. Maybe that will change after some tailgating Cajun style. I'm open to any program that parties as hard as we do. Might have to beat them one time first though just to take the chip off of some of their shoulders.

I did! UL is my 1st, 2nd and 3rd favorite program period! I'm not a band waggon jumper like a number of people that post on this forum, with multiple schools listed under their user name. And while there are a number of programs I respect, I don't like any opponent period.

Yeahhh..but that was the whole point of the thread. Don't vote it if you don't have a 2nd favorite.

well technically I guess your first and second and third favorite food could all be the same one.....just not a lot of variety or thought put into it.......I think the question of second favorite would kind of preclude the assumption that it would be the same as your first favorite........In other words......what is my favorite food.....chocolate chip cookies hot out of oven......my second is chocolate chip cookies warm.....and my third favorite is chocolate chip cookies that are cooled off just waiting for me to get home and grab em out of the container.......
Is that how one chooses their first and second favorite program the same? OR do these guys actually like someone better than the program they say they support?

You have a second favorite in the SBC? Then vote for them by all means. I voted for the my second favorite and third for that matter.
