RE: Greatest Conference Rivalries?
Hard to believe but there are many fans that if their team went undefeated,
except for losing the Black and Blue Game, would consider it an unsuccessful season.

I'd be butt-hurt too if my school were a long time member being upstaged by a couple of noobies.

After reading up on the other rivalries or lack-there-of, I'm confident that App/GaSo is the #1 rivalry in the SBC.

BEAT THE STINK!

I think App/UNCC is more comparable to GAST/GASO. Big city vs college town. History of success vs no history at all. Winning records and championships vs losses to Sub-D1 teams. Fan base and attendance vs media market. And so on.

Isn't there a basketball thread somewhere that you should be more relevant in?

And thanks for making my point. You guys are a joy. Someone mail them the SBC Football Championship please,

they are in the mail with State's SBC Basketball ring...

Its great that App and GS could show up to save the SBC from itself. Whatever would we do otherwise?

didn't realize you guys won the tournament. Regular season is cute and all, but it also doesn't get you into the tournament.

Well not in the SBC anyway. But the trophy was nice. 07-coffee3

Guess if you didn't have the two of us you would have Liberty and Jacksonville State.

^ What he said.

Also, is the only thing hampering the GaSt/Lambuth rivalry from taking off the fact that can't beat them?

I think what App & Georgia Southern fans are (somewhat, and not all of them) failing to realize is that it's just poor form to be fresh in and start thumping chests.

It's the easy way to make people call you trolls. And it will be worse when you lose to X team.

I guess it's called tact.

I think what most other fans on here fail to realize is that App's and GS's CSNBBS reputations have been sullied by a few overzealous fringe posters.

Most of us are here to troll since nobody takes us seriously anyway.

There are a few however, that everyone should sit down and listen to whenever they speak. LOL at people dismissing gatadotcom on the conference baseball tourney thread.

I haven't really seen a whole lot of chest thumping. most of our fans are predicting mediocre seasons, with the possibility of surprising some people. We are both proud of our football programs, and we expect to win. It is in our tradition to win.

And in terms of the rivalry thing, nobody else really seems to be coming to the plate with a good rivalry.

Nobody needs to come to plate. We have watched SBC football for years. We know what Louisiana/ULM is. We know how USA and GSU feel about each other.

it is a web forum. people talk about things. and you say everyone here knows about it, but you also have two new schools. this thread was created by a new school member who was asking about the rest of the conference. Not really a hard concept to grasp. I guess your threads about kids transferring to state shouldn't be made since we all follow college athletic sites too.
