RE: JMU Says No to the SunBelt
Hard to know at this point if a 12th school is already committed and just waiting until mid-late May after their season is over to officially join or if the Sun Belt does not have a clue what it is doing and we can't get our act together to decide on a 12th team.

Oh yea of little faith.... Mizzou State did not have an invite, JMU did.

First off, I think they prefer Mo State. Secondly, there were reports last week that both were invited.

There were also reports 2 weeks ago that Liberty was a done deal and only the TV stuff was being worked out.

In all honesty, adding NMSU for all-sports and UMass for football only would be the best move at PRESENT time for the Sun Belt IMO. It still gives you the wiggle room in the future for 2 members. Let the ramp up for those spots begin.

RE: JMU Says No to the SunBelt
If the thing passes to allow conferences with less than 12 teams to have a championship I could easily see the Sun Belt just sit still at 11. It gives 2 years to decide to either send Idaho on its way or by then possibly invite Eastern Kentucky who could be much more ready in 2 years than they are now.

Stick at 11. I would like to see NMSU come in all sports.

Odds of that are probably low based on Benson's comments. We are most likely getting somebody in the east for better or worse.

I concur.

You can put UMass FB Only on a 4 year renewable contract like Idaho and always cut them at a later date.

The SBC has too many transitioning FCS to FBS members right now among its ranks.

Next year only Ga. Southern and App are in 2nd year of transition. Rest of Sun Belt is full FBS.

Those "reliable sources" were in the ASU athletic administration. People were told at the Va Tech game it was done deal. It was about the same time Cobb said something along the lines that the SB was little more than a glorified FCS conference. Perhaps CUSA changed their minds after we got steamrolled by the Hokies. 03-lmfao

At no point in this process have I ever heard from anyone in the know that JMU was likely to join.

Missouri State, the book on them has remained they can't be ready before this time next year at the earliest.

I don't see that anything has changed.

We both are in 2nd year this year.
After this years, 2014-15, we are done with
formal transition.

Obviously you are under informed.
Ohio has only won 2 bowls, ever. Believe we have done that years ago.

Yes that is what I meant. Next year we both are bowl-eligible.

I get bored and change it up every now and then. I changed it Sunday in honor of JMU who doesn't think you can play FBS football with the unworthy lower classes of society and have good learnin' programs.

RE: JMU Says No to the SunBelt
If JMU really wanted to be in the Sun Belt they would have accepted last Spring after WKU left. Probably time to cross them of the list.

By the way our AD just tweeted that he enjoyed a dinner with reps from the Orlando Sports Association and is excited for the announcement tomorrow (4th guaranteed SB bowl). I wonder if other Sun Belt ADs are in Orlando possibly discussing a 12th team among other things.
