Well maybe you will be the one move up to go 10-2

Setting the bar kinda high there aren't we. If we win 5-6 games next year it would be great for App and the conference as a whole. Now if we stink up the joint the way Ga State has(so far) then I would be shocked and it wouldn't be a very good add for the Sunbelt.

You do realize tat USA went 2-10 two years ago right? You are likelier to go win 0-2 games than you are to win 6

You are 1-16 against FBS opponents. I promise we will have more than 1 win against an FBS by the end of our first year. Not hating on GSU but you guys are really bad at football right now. That's a fact.

Don't forget you are talking to a State fan. In their eyes, they were 7 points away from being undefeated last year. But hey, they got better! They almost didn't lose a couple times towards the end of the season.

Face it, you are jealous that App won't do a money drop to attract fans.

We get Campbell and Liberty at home. We will be favored in both. We get you guys at home. I assume we will be favored by a small margin. We will be a toss up with SBama GaSouthern and SouthMiss.

Favored in 3 with 3 toss ups puts us in the 4-5 win range. Then you have the argument, yeah but you could get upset. True, we could also be the upsetter so that offsets.

Oh yeah we own Michigan so that's a W. J/K

It could be the fact how a lot of people love to say we bring down the Sun Belt, and every time GSU gets good press people are quick to crap on it. So we get a little defensive. Not the first article saying something good about GSU, and it won't be the last... and that is good for the Belt.

It has nothing to do with it being GSU. It could be Tennessee Michigan Florida Bama. If any of them had a coach that just went winless and were being considered up and coming. I would also say the sports writer is an idiot. He could still end up being a GREAT coach one day. But at this point in his career he has accomplished essentially nothing.

not to mention his total W-L record is way below .500. Jeff Monken should be listed before State's coach.

Difference being Moken underachieved with good athletes. Monken took a bunch a talent and did nothing with it.

3 trips to the semi finals and a win over an SEC perennial (albeit not great that year) power? How many FCS teams would have loved that 4 year span (including App)?
Not to mention that two of those losses were to a NDSU team who had probably one of the best defenses in FCS ever.

He took over a team that went winless for two seasons before he came on board. He got them straightened out and on the rise at Indiana State. He also did what Monken couldn't do... Beat North Dakota State in the Fargodome.

Or the writer knows the coach's history and actually saw some of the games or did research. The staff did a phenomenal job to not get blown out weekly considering that the Seniors were FCS talent and they were forced to play a whole host of Freshmen and Sophomores. The difference between 0 and 5 wins last year was our abysmal QB situation. The play got better throughout the year and will continue to get better. At any rate 2015 is the year.

0-12
1-10
6-5
6-5
7-4
0-12

oh yeah, 1 game erases 3 out of 6 seasons with losing records, 2 of those seasons being winless. Please tell me how that is more impressive than what Monken did? Try harder.

How about he had to build something from nothing. Not 5-6 nothing... 0-22 nothing. He didn't just walk into a program that was recognized as a winning program that was in a lull. He made one a winner that before couldn't find its way out of the tunnel with a map.

We have Hud for six more years unless a big boy wants to give us a big pay day. We will dominate the Bolt for years or until we bolt.

A coach who goes 0-12 (without fully explaining the reasoning behind it) is automatically an awful coach by default and should not be on any on-the-rise list? Love the logic.

Not just that he went 0-12, he lost to 3 fcs schools in the process. Its just simply to early to say he is a coach on the rise. Let him at least get his first FBS win first.

Whoa now, Georgia State is a relatively new program. For anyone to say 0-12 at GSU makes you a bad coach is laughable. I believe the seasons he had before he want 0-12 weren't against schedule as tough as it is today. Losing to three FCS teams (who I think were good FCS teams in their own right) who have been playing football a lot longer than GSU does not make you a bad coach. Coach on the rise has yet to be seen though. But I'll say GSU was quite impressive in their losses so I can certainly see where people are coming from.

No one inferred that he was a bad coach. Just not a coach on the rise........yet.

I think you forgot to add that gsu had a fcs roster playing a fbs schedule. That same fcs roster won one game the season before Miles came playing a Fcs schedule. The win-loss column will never show it, but the team improved greatly under Miles while playing without fbs players.
