Rice @ Tulane (Sunday, Game 3)
Just to get the ball rolling, here's a post: The Owls go for the sweep after two tight contests with the Green Wave, 4-3, 2-1, with McDowell on the mound for the Owls. Walt suggests we might eventually see Johnny Wholestaff for Tulane. So get set to comment sagely.

It's Palm Sunday. Do any of the Owls throw the palm ball?

Alex Massey pitches for Tulane with a suspect ERA in the sevens.

1 to 0? The pattern being 2^n to [(2^n)-1] where n= 2 --> 0?

So Stainback walks then is wiped out by a DP ball hit by Cook. Ewing grounds 5-3 and it's a pretty routine top of the first for the guy with the 7.31 ERA. Boo.

A clean conclusion if that algorithm applies. My crystal ball sees 8-5 but I can't tell what game it's referring to.

Not the game we wanted to see from Chase McD. He's pulled B1 after 2 score. Teykly in.

Awfully quick hook. Does Chase appear hurt?

5-0 unfortunately is not a laughing matter. Going to have to play from way behind today.

With only two Sunday wins all year...err, maybe that should be three?

RE: Rice @ Tulane (Sunday, Game 3)
Carthon opens it up for Tulane with a clean single to center. Alemais bunts for a single and McDowell has two on with no outs. Teykl already warming up. Maybe McDowell is in trouble. Graham comes out to discuss wedding gifts. Returns to the dugout favoring the candlesticks and the toaster.

Deschamp, a pest all weekend, bunts the runners over to second and third with just one out. Garner singles in both runners and, believe it or not, that's it for McDowell. Got to wonder if he has arm trouble. One third of an inning is all he gets and he gives up 2 earned runs on three hits with one of his runners still on.

Now it's up to Teykl. A bad sign as Tulane as Hope gets plunked. It be looking bad for us Owlfolk. Kaplan doubles in one run and it's 3-0 Tulane. That third run belongs to Teykl. Let's hope they can't pitch today either because it looks like it might be one of those days. Still just one out with runners on second and third.

Dimaggio gets a two run single and one is reminded of the last game with UH when our pitching exploded in the first. Wow. A really unfortunate inning is under way. Finally an out is recorded as Rogers strikes out. Willsey ends the inning with a K.

Whew.

That makes it tough to have many sweeps...

I have a feeling the winner today may be in double digit runs, though.

RE: Rice @ Tulane (Sunday, Game 3)
Hoelscher leads off the second with a single. Teykl, breathing the Cajun Infusion, swings and misses for a K.
McDowell, remaining in the game as the DH, forces out Hoelscher at second, leaving one on with two outs for Aquino.

Aquino is retired on a fly to center. Still 0-5 going to the bottom of the second although it feels a lot later than that.
