You diss your own team. They did what it took to win their rings and trophy. They overcame a lot of hardships at the end of the season to get what they got and become champions according to the rules. They did what they had to do to earn rings. I'm sure they give a crap about whether or not you think they won it legit or not.
I'm not "clinging" to anything. In fact I'm prouder of last year's championship than the other two outright titles. They had to deal with replacing our all-time best quarterback and one of our all-time great defenders with a new system under their 4th coach in 4 years, a system not designed for them, and a coach who had no idea how to call plays for their talents....and an injured QB to close out the season. But they still pulled out a trophy to keep the string alive.
Very proud of that co-championship.

The better football program won. In most leagues we would be the only champion due to head to head competition. It's pretty stupid to even bring that up for an ASU fan.
Until the advent of championship games the way the Sun Belt does it was the way it was done.
What is stupid is someone to trash as small time a successful promotion that has garnered positive national attention.

How does one game from last season determine who's the better program?
ULM beat you on your field last year, they must be a better program than Louisiana.
I think you'd be better served to point out your slight advantage all time over ASU(22-19-1) or your slight advantage over the past ten seasons(6-4). Of course an ASU fan could point to their 4 SBC titles(2 outright, 2 shared) compared to Louisiana's 2 SBC titles(both shared).
There are plenty of metrics by which one side or the other could argue they have the better program, but the winner of last year's game is not one of them.
The "better program" argument is pretty pointless. The tides rise and fall. Louisiana is a great football program and great all-around sports program.
But I can say that we seem to be having a lot more fun than the Cajuns for some reason. Which is unusual. Their fans seem to be tighter than grandma's girdle since conference realignment.

Glad you're proud to be co-champs. You will not find many Cajun fans all that excited about it. I hope you can keep your coach this year. If not the ebay coach could fill in. You conveniently skipped the part about having a better football team than us which is STUPID since we pounded you at your own field.

I'd probably be bitter too, if my school hadn't won an outright championship since 1970.
Even when you win, you can't win. That could drive some to the point you're at. I understand.

We are both having the best runs our programs have ever had. We are doing our best to enjoy it to the fullest extent and have a blast. It will be a shame if you choose to spend it unhappy.

Wow. It's sports man. Let go of that hate and bitterness. You ooze so much hate that you trash your own program. That's just not any fun to watch nor be around. Thought about coin collecting or bird watching?

RE: Bid high enough to be the next ASU coach.
Louisiana had the better team last year, but Arkansas State's program is better. Some people don't know how to differentiate the two terms. They don't mean the same thing. Troy has pounded teams like a ranked Missouri and Oklahoma State. We were certainly not a better program than either one, but we took care of business on that day. We lead LSU 31-3 very late in the 3rd QTR in 2008. If we'd held on to win (or pound them 45-3) no one would have ever said Troy had a better program than LSU.
Louisiana got pounded by USA. Toward the end of the year USA probably had the better team especially without Broadway, but Louisiana's program is a few steps ahead of where USA is at. But that could all change this year or next. Nothing is permanent and USA seems to be building a decent program.

Since we're arguing that one game decides who the better program is, that means ULM has the better football program of the Louisiana schools...right?

You talking about someone else conveniently skipping parts is hilarious. You have failed to respond to several posts poking holes in your argument.
You also really just need to let go of your obsession with their auctioned off coach. You've yet to even come close to articulating what is so embarrassing about it, especially when multiple people have pointed out far more gimmicky spring games this year like cheerleaders as coaches and that didn't even raise any money.

The amount of money raised by this is far secondary to the amount of exposure created nationally for StAte. Although appreciated, the donation was never the point for doing this.

Install poles on the sidelines and let Jagimiester pay for it. You will get national attention and a bump up in attendance. You got a reaction from me when some idiot said the ASU football program was better than ours. We carry this league in football, Basketball and baseball. BTW, The French Quarter fest is awesome!

ULL has zero outright football championships, and until this season had spent the last decade in basketball middling along in the middle of the pack, and even this year it really came down getting hot at the right time.
The idea that you carry this league in football and basketball is perhaps the most ridiculous idea ever sprouted on this board, and that includes NoDak's wild theories about the Big Sky becoming FBS.

I thought that outright championships didn't mean anything? We are the only team in the basketball NCAA and a nationally ranked baseball program. What has ASU done lately?
