That's really hard to do.

You guys just don't like the Cajuns because you know we belong someplace better. You baseball teams suck so you have nothing better to do than to hate on the Cajuns. This board has been like this forever. Leave Zeebart out of this his is a gentlemen and a scholar. You don't find any posts praising the baseball team for getting us some good exposure. Just a bunch of muck about which 1-AA should be invited and this genius move to ebay a chance to be a ASU coach for a day.

lol You cannot be a real Cajun fan. You are the most stereotypical ugly fan I've seen. You HAVE to be a ringer for ULM.

Auction closed today. Naturally the first thing ESPN did was to contact the winner and is working on an interview.

The understanding we have is that the guy who won the auction is a 25 year old entrepreneur from the New York City area. He has no ties to Arkansas State, and has never attended an ASU athletic function before. He will pay $11,700 to the Red Wolves Foundation for the opportunity to coach the game.

What's better than free publicity?

Publicity someone pays you $12,000 to give you. Jealous.

The fun part is the Publicity. The guy who did the original story has been going on and on about what a great idea this is. Its a way for a G5 College Football Program, with limited National Exposure to open itself up publicly to fans across the country, who would never normally have the opportunity to donate.

Its very new, and will probably never work at a big school because all the Big Money Boosters would be upset that they were bidding with non fans. But at ASU, its a perfect fit. We don't have big money boosters, so this is an opportunity win new fans.

Being nationally ranked in a major college sport is much better. I wouldn't trade that for 12K and a odd story from the national media.

You consider 12,000 big money? No wonder we have HUD for six years and you will be on your 5th coach.

And we still pay basically a little less than what you do. Look, ASU has less than 50 people who give more than 500 bucks to our program. 11,700 is 4 semesters worth of instate tuition at Arkansas State. That's huge money here

3 rings, 3 trophies, 3 bowls without paying a coach. Plus we have a good time and you seem to need a prozac the size of a handball.

I believe we were co-Champs for a few of those which I don't count. Prozac? That an old 20th century medication. I'm sure they have better stuff today that could help you. Find your new coach some happy pills and maybe he will stay for more than a year.

Uhh, You guys were co champs with us in 2005 and 2013. 2011 and 2012 we won the conference outright. You shared 2nd place with another team each of those years.

You were co-champs in 2005 which was NOT one of the three I was referring to. You were co-champs last year. Whether or not you count that as a championship for stAte and Louisiana is of no consequence since everyone else in the world counts it.

It does bring up the fact though that you don't seem to know much about your team's past.

By the way, I used "prozac the size of a handball" because it is an obscure reference and I'm partial to obscure references.

Baseball is not a major college sport, as much as you want it to be to lend credence to your argument.

There are two major college sports: football and MBB.

Baseball is probably fourth behind WBB.

false. at least the behind wbb statement.

maybe behind wbb in murfreesboro or key west womensfest but not in the real sports world.

but you are correct in saying there are only 2. football big time at the top and mens hoops behind that.

that said i have to tip my cap (30 degree tilt flat-bill) at 90fan. his scorched earth trolling of asu is some of the best i've seen since my probation points days back when i was on the firewater.

I expect ESPN broadcasts more WBB and the average attendance is higher nationwide for WBB as well. Which metric would you like to go by?

Really? Not knowing when his team won championships in the last decade seems a little weak.

my metric is the beed-o-meter. i couldn't care less about the blue-hair geriatrics or the other 'cough cough' target audience for fake slow-motion basketball.

lets just stick with your football and mbb argument. i'm fully in agreement on that one.
