Could it possibly be because it's going to happen?

Nothing's dead at this point, things are still fluid.

I think jmu is waiting on an invite to c-usa so will put us off as long as they can. utep is pressing the mwc hard for an invite because they are not happy with what is left of c-usa and would line up better with the western schools. jmu may have the notion that they would be the replacement for utep. my own view is that c-usa would just bring in stAte instead.

Just my opinion but umass has a full membership offer still on the table in the mac with a couple a10 teams likely to go to the big east, I imagine umass might have to weigh their options, that could give jmu a conference invite but this seems unlikely

UMass was extended a full sports membership offer. Their REJECTION of that offer is what triggered their expulsion.

First week of Contracts. When an offer is rejected it is no longer there to be accepted. Now realistically if they changed their mind the MAC would do so but it is incorrect to say they still have an offer on the table.

This person refused to give names of schools under consideration, saying several are in delicate positions in their present conference and would not like the information to become public. Here is basically what this person told me:

1. The Sun Belt is very reluctant to give anymore football only invites. It is not ruled out completely but very unlikely.
2. No guarantee but the Sun Belt is trying hard to get to 12 before June 1. That is the goal.
3. Talks are presently underway with at least 4 schools on joining the Sun Belt.
4. It is a balancing act getting the eastern and western schools to vote a new member in as each school has preferences, but it would not be unexpected to have 2 teams brought in this year.

Maybe that does not tell you much but it is all I could get.

Confirms what most have suspected.

Missouri State has some money coming from Wichita's Final Four run, which if we leave the Valley without giving them a year's notice we forfeit that money. Creighton did that but the Valley hadn't had a deep run for a while and they were getting bank from the Big East.

I would hope stAte would stay if a CUSA invite came as well. I hope we all would. I'd take Georgia schools #3&4 over Florida schools #6&7, App St football over Charlotte football, ULL& ULM over LaTech, Troy over UAB, TxSt's future over UTSA, stAte over UNT, USA can beat USM any given Saturday . If MTSU and WKU had just held the line this wouldn't even be up for debate. Marshall, ODU, and UTEP would be scrambling.

I think most SBC fans would actually hope for CUSA to take Georgia State so it would further weaken their closest competition.

I want CUSA to keep expanding East because it further isolates the Western part of the league, and could lead to one of those airport meetings Panama keeps talking about.

Sorry that was my mistake, you are correct what I meant is that they would allow umass to join as a full member if they asked today and that their 'offer still stands' though not legally. Though admittedly this info is from an unconnected umass grad so take that with a grain of salt.

Also asked my friend who is connected at Bradley about MO state. He laughed and asked me if I knew of any good restaurants in Tulsa.

When did Missouri State move to Tulsa?

If MO state leaves Wichita will be on an island the two logical schools that could be targeted are oru and UMKC and the valley isn't taking the train wreck kangaroos

Yeah but I'd rather travel to KC.

Rib & Brisket dinner at Oklahoma Joe's is well worth the wait.
