If they think Troy will stay down forever your an idiot. You have had 3 bowls games since what? 1940. I wouldn't talk too much trash.

I'm not convinced USA will beat Troy this year but why wouldn't I as a fan expect a good close game considering Troy only won at home last year because of a freak hail mary INT in the last play of the game?

Or consider that Troy won by 1 point and we missed a 22-yard FG and a PAT earlier in the game... Those misses hurt more than once as they lead to the silly decision to go for it on 4th down (and no FG) at the Troy 5-yard line in the 4th quarter. Troy won the game where it counts, the scoreboard. But I'm not convinced USA wasn't the better team last year. A few mistakes and coaching decisions cost USA the game. I won't talk about the reffing; we all know that the conference took action after the game that the refs didn't take in the game that would have benefitted USA. I know stats are for losers, but I feel this is a game USA should have won (see box score below). That's not to say I'm making a prediction about this game. This year's game could go either way.

That sure is a lot of crying ... also, Sun Belt doesn't publicize suspensions on refs, so you got a link for that?

I don't think USA was the better team. I don't think Troy was either. It was pretty even to me. USA fans talk about that hail mary and refs, but there were two plays where USA got extremely lucky that went for touchdowns and a chunk of those 630 yards. Despite the high yard count, other than those two freak plays, Troy's defense held USA to reasonable numbers. It's not like USA owned Troy from start to right before the end, or even that USA was in control of the game. Troy lead 24-7 at one point and when it was 17-7, Troy fumbled near or in the red zone. It could have easily been 31-7. Hard to do if USA was the better team that day.

Did USA deserve to win towards the end that day? Probably. It hurts to have the rug pulled out from under you right at the last minute after you've made a nice comeback. A similar thing happened to us in 2010 when we were at UAB. Except we were up 23-7, and UAB came back at the end with a hail mary to win it 34-33. No lead is safe with our defense, that's for sure.

At 1:42 and 2:09 on the recap below its certainly Troy's fault these happened, but as bad as Troy's defense is, I've never seen freak plays of those nature from Troy. Early when Troy lead 17-7, Robinson threw a bomb into the red zone, and we immediately turned it over. Despite that and the two freak plays, we still overcame and won the game. Not saying Troy was the better team, but if USA was truly the better team, Troy would not have been able to overcome what it did to win the game.

Just pointing out you can't leave points on the field against Troy in Troy and expect to win. We played well enough to win but made enough mistakes to lose. It happens. Who pulled your string and why do you care?

I never said the refs got suspended. The refs made some questionable calls, but I was referring to the targeting/late hit that occurred right in front of a ref that was not called. The Sun Belt reviewed the game film for targeting (NCAA requirement) and issued a suspension accordingly.

As a side note, Troy winning this game might have saved Larry Blakeney's job... Would he have been able to survive another losing season with a loss to 1st year FBS team and rival USA? I know a few Troy fans that don't think so.

So, that doesn't say anything about the refs being suspended.

Again, show me where I said the refs were suspended. You can't because I didn't say that. Please read my post more carefully. I figured when I said in my last post "I never said the refs got suspended" you would have re-read my initial post.

Let me help... I said the conference took action after the game that the refs didn't take in the game. In plainer words... The refs missed calls. One such play was a targeting penalty that should have been called against Troy. It was not called. The Sun Belt is required by the NCAA (as is every other league) to review game film for each game to analyze each targeting call made on the field and to look for missed targeting calls that weren't called in the game. After watching the game film the conference saw the targeting that was not called in the game, and suspended the Troy player after the game. That was the action the conference took. I thought it was quite clear in my last post.

That was a called play that was executed to perfection...it was also attempted against the Cajuns and ULM... didn't work.

You are correct, he didn't in that post. But I've seen it in others from South fans about that game.

you all are arguing semantics at this point just to be "right".

calls were blown and Troy won. USA had opportunities to take the game out of the official's hands and didn't. end of discussion.

I know the stats are for the losers. I said that. But there are times when you feel like you have a better team and lose. It happens all the time. And although you were being sarcastic I will say this:

Troy should have beaten ASU. The 4 turnovers cost you the game. I remember watching the game and thinking Troy would have won that game if not for the turnovers.

Troy fumbling on the Troy 9-yard line gifted ULM a touchdown, and then cost themselves some points by fumbling at the ULM 4-yard line. That's a huge swing in points that could've been the difference in the game.

Troy was pretty evenly matched with Duke. That game could have gone either way.

I didn't watch any of the Troy/Louisiana Lafayette game , but it looks like that game could have gone in your favor.

While your intention was pure sarcasm, you aren't far off. Troy probably should have won a couple of those games. But for that to be true then USA probably should have won against Troy. It is what it is, and that's what we as fans do lol.

As I said before, Troy gifted you several times during the game and still won. If USA should have won, they would have won. At the very end they may have deserved to win, but the rest of the game, gift after gift, and still not getting the job done tells me that USA was not the better team. It was even at best. If Troy had lost, we'd all (except USA fans) would have been saying Troy should have won. 24-7 lead, but a key redzone fumble, and two gift wrapped TDs would have lead to a Troy loss. But they won anyway.
