I really don't believe ULL being a top 8 seed will come down to winning the SBC Tournament ... committee is not that stupid to put that much weight on a game at the end of a league tournament

Yeah, like a softball team with the #1 out of conference and #8 RPI getting a #14 seed. Never happen.

Completely different world in terms of selection committee's. The Baseball committee watches the first couple rounds of the tourney and might lower someone for a 2 and BBQ, but conference championships have little reflection of what the actual seedings look like. If the Cajuns are playing in a Sunday final, there national seed status would be long decided by that point.

The Women's selection committee has been known to play favorites. SEC/Pac 12/Oklahoma are pretty much guaranteed top seeds regardless of year (Money). Baseball is far more divided because there are several big baseball programs that play in mid major leagues.

I hear this all the time and its nonesense! First, if your program is on a current losing streak at conference tournament time, then it would not be in its best interest to lose period. Second, if the conference has to depended upon your regular season champion losing to get another team in the NCAA's, it speaks volumes as to the qualitiy of the sport in our conference that year.

Nothing is given, but should UL remain in the Top 10 and another program knocks the Cajuns out of the SBC Tournament, I can live with that. But for UL, securing a Regional far outweighs what is good for the league. The league needs to get better and the resposibilty doesn't fall on the shoulders of the champion.

Depends on how you look at it. If you guys are really 50-6 heading into the tourney...you'd have a regional and National Seed pretty much locked up. In that case...there is no way your coach would throw one of your top pitchers in say...the championship game on Sunday. You'll throw your three weekend guys once each, and let the rest of the staff figure out any other games you play.

I am not actually suggesting you guys should lose intentionally...I was kidding on that. Though I do think you would be foolish to throw your best pitcher for 175 pitches or something in a crazy run to try and win what will be a meaningless tourney for you guys.

This is a down year for the league. Combination of Troy and USA have a lost a ton of players, and most other programs dealing with a lot of youth. We go through it every few years.

I think the UL players and coaches first goal is to win the Conference Championship, which is winning the tournament, and taking the Conference Championship Trophy

I wouldn't leave anything up to chance with any NCAA committee in any sport. JMO

If it ended right now I think Louisiana is a top 8 seed almost guaranteed.

Regular season is the true conference champion, and they have that locked up

Too many horses before the cart. Lets let the season play out, and enjoy the ride.
