I don't know who's more foolish: The guy with App finishing 11th, or the guy having App finish 3rd.
I have you guys last. Someone has to be last. Your schedule sucks. You faded last year, which isn't a good sign for this year. You will be underdogs and big ones too in all but 2 of your games. Those are at home versus Georgia State and Idaho.
Here's my review of your schedule
at Georgia Southern. Five days after you play on the road, you go back on the road to play your rival on the road in the FBS opening home game for them. To be sure, GaSo plays on the road that Saturday too. But they have you at home and they were better last year overall. So I think GaSo will be the winner here
South Alabama at home - It will be well inside the season by this point so any transition issues USA might have at QB will be gone. As it will be your FBS home opener, I expect a big crowd and a highly spirited opponent. But I think you lose to a team that has experience winning on the road and will be bigger, faster, and will have more depth than you guys.
at Troy - Road game. Against Troy. Not good.
Georgia State at home - Best chance for a win. At home and after a week to prepare. I have a sneaky feeling Ga State isn't going to be as bad as they were last year.
ULM at home - See USA. But by now you'll have a losing record and the intensity might be coming off.
at Arkansas State - I see...pain
at Lousiana Lafayette - I see ... more pain
Idaho at home - after running the guantlet of ULM, Arkansas State, and ULL with your thin depth chart, you get to host Idaho the next week. Which hasn't won a road game in forever. But they will be coming off a home game and a week off so they'll probably be pretty rested. You guys could win the game, but I'm not sure that you guys playing at home will mitigate how beat up you guys might be after three weeks of ULM, ULL, and Arkansas State.
I hope I'm wrong (about all but the USA game) but your schedule sucks. Even your breaks suck. At least in conference play.
That, plus how you ended the season last year, was the problem.
