Whole house smells like sweet pork smoke and a Homecoming when you open the door. Taste is really good. I think the next time I do this, which will be soon it's half gone already (four teens in the house at the moment) I'm adding some chipotles in adobo. Or I may just smoke my own and make a mole to go in too.
Great dish, thanks!

As the temperatures start to cool down one of my favorite crock pot soups is a Beef, Barley and Lentil soup. It's super healthy, super rich in taste and really easy/quick to make.
1-1.5 pounds ground beef (I buy the 93/7)
red potatoes (cubed)
celery (chopped)
carrots (chopped)
onion (diced)
1 cup dried lentils
1/2 cup pearl barley
beef stock
salt
Cook the beef and onion together until the beef is brown, drain off the grease and throw it in the crock pot.
Layer all your veggies on top and add the lentils and barley.
Cover with 32 oz of beef stock, add salt and cook on low for 8 hours.
Once it's all tender serve with a dash of lemon pepper.

I think it would be good with stew meat. I've been thinking of doing it with lamb and adding a touch of wine.
Recipes can be good or bad, depending on the recipe or cook. But before there was a recipe, there was some cook experimenting by adding stuff until it's ready to eat. It works both ways.
I love to cook. In the last week, I've done baby back ribs a couple of pork tenderloins, a shredded chicken and rice dish both with various sides.
Tonight I made a home made banana pudding, which requires a cooked custard.
After baseball practice tonight , my nephew requested a Cornish Hen dish that I make.

have you ever tried clotted cream. I've been wanting to attempt it. It looks easy.

I grew up on the stuff. Nothing like a cream tea.

I still owe okla the stroganoff recipe.. Since the Ms. Gdunn will be working tonight, I'll try to find it and post it. I usually don't get on a computer when she's home so we can hang out.
