I'd say I am glad they come to Jonesboro this year...but that also means we have a home series that will be hard to win a game of.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Louisiana-Lafayette is ranked No. 1 for the first time in Collegiate Baseball’s NCAA Division I baseball poll presented by Big League Chew bubble gum.

South Carolina, ranked No. 1 the past three weeks, slipped to second after losing two of three at Kentucky.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (22-2) have won 12 in a row and feature a pitching staff with a 2.30 ERA, 180 strikeouts and only 64 walks over 24 games. On offense, the team has belted 28 homers, 52 doubles and 11 triples while hitting .303 as a team and averaging 7.5 runs per game. Louisiana-Lafayette has stolen 40 bases while limiting opponents to only 9. The 22-2 start is the best in school history.

Louisiana-Lafayette has already beaten Louisiana St. in Baton Rouge, La. and took two of three from Alabama in earlier series. Over the past weekend, the Ragin’ Cajuns swept a 3-game set from Georgia St.

Should be no reason Astate doesn't sell out baseball that weekend. A rival comes to town that just so happens to be ranked! No excuses!

No chance. That is most likely graduation weekend, meaning most students won't be around. That and I am not honestly sure you can sell out our stadium. We have a seating capacity, but so much of the place is Standing Room Only, its hard to say.

That being said, it will almost assuredly be our highest attended weekend assuming good weather.

GOOD JOB 04-cheers

Is this the first time a SBC team has been #1 (at the highest division/level) in a Big Three Sport? Or any sport?

Congrats to the Cajuns. Sun Belt is now #8 in RPI and the Cajuns are a big part of why that is. I am looking forward to Ga. Southern entering the Belt in baseball next year.

Dude, we will be humbled at some point because we are going to lose more games. Cajuns just need to hang on and finish in the Top 10 to host a regional!
