Actually, Tony Mitchell is the only true overlord of basketball....

Are we talking about NT's Tony Mitchell?

I thought it was illegal for anyone else to be named Tony Mitchell.

GSU ended with a higher RPI, more wins on the season, more wins in conference, and ended the regular season as number 1 in the Sun Belt, beating Louisiana twice. I'm sure you wouldn't have called Troy number 1 in the belt if they won the tournament, and in the same way, nor is Louisiana. Congrats, you won one game. That does not make you Sun Belt #1, it just gives you an automatic bid.

GSU also ended the year with about $750,000 less in their pockets than the Cajuns for all of that winning. I believe the NCAA Unit is 50% to the school that earns it and 50% to the conference. I will never down play what a team did over the course of the season all of the wins are important for that school. But in the end and 10 years from now UL-L will have the words NCAA lost in the first round by their name. No one will be checking to see who won the conference regular season. That's just the way it goes if you don't make the NCAA Tourney.

Perhaps they changed it when they added the First Four, but I thought a conference/school only received a NCAA unit if the representative school actually won a game in the tournament.

Is that not the case?

Im fairly sure you get a credit for the playin game, win or lose. You dont for the second game if you win the playin game.

Okay...but they didn't play in the play-in game (aka the First Four). So ULL and/or the Sun Belt didn't get the 750k, right?

Ah, my old buddy Tonya Michelle. The one year wonder. Comes back for his second year and is all of a sudden the 3rd best player at his position in the conference.

Man, that has to be one of the biggest sports flop I've seen, and as a Blue Raider fan, that is saying something. NT was the consensus pick for first in the conference and were expected to make some noise nationally. They ended up going 7-13 in conference and 12-20 overall.
