And for those Troy fans, would you guys have ever thought Mercer would get back when ya'll were in the A-Sun?
It's shocking to say the least....
But let me tell you. Mercer is investing in facilities and sports if anyone has been on their campus.
It was so interesting with them, they announced they were starting non-scholarship football, joining up with A-Sun stalwarts Jacksonville and Stetson. The next thing you know they're building this palace of a stadium and hired Bobby Lamb. When ETSU announced it was actually investing in football, then App/Ga. Southern left for here it was clear what was happening. They have a perfect size for an arena for them. No reason to have more than 3200, they can fill it, and it's a raucous joint to play in.
I do hate it for FGCU, Northern Kentucky and Lipscomb. I feel like had Belmont stayed, a basketball conference with Belmont, this version of Mercer, FGCU, ETSU, Northern Kentucky and SC Upstate would've been a nice conference at that level. Definitely not an easy out.
Oh well, if Tennessee holds on it'll be great matchup Sunday.
