That is the best you can do? Another board rumor? Why doesn't Smart just come out and say that?

I keep saying that Missouri State is not talking because they are not moving. Missouri State averages 8,700 in attendance, plays mediocre football, has a $14 million athletic budget and an old FCS stadium that seats 17,000 (even after the improvements). Central Missouri University at the D2 level averaged 9,000 fans last season. Missouri State is not close to being ready. The 12th spot belongs to JMU if they want it, Liberty if they don't.

On the subject of basketball, NMSU is too far to travel for olympic sports. The bottom of the SBC needs to improve, especially my school. It is going to take time and adding NMSU in basketball won't make schools like Texas State better in basketball. The SBC will remain a one bid conference even with NMSU. That won't change unless the bottom feeders get better.

You must have some alternative motive against Missouri State. You come across as a complete idiot.

Real intelligent response. Everything I said was accurate. I have no issue with Missouri State, I am just not going to be a cheerleader for an FBS charade. It takes a lot of money to move up and Missouri State does not have it. Your administration has figured that out.

RE: Future of Sun Belt Hoops
Central Missouri averaged 7700 fans at home last year. Northwest Missouri averaged 7650. They are both division 2 schools. If nothing else, it proves that if a school in Missouri puts a good product on the field the fans will come. Missouri State should easily increase its attendance with the recruiting class coming in and a little excitement of things to come.

All of that being said, this particular thread is about basketball. Mo. State has always primarily been a basketball school first. Mo. State would do nothing but help on the basketball side. Given the RPI's of the teams leaving and the teams coming, I am not sure inviting them would do anything more than maintaining the status quo but that is at least something.

You state that you are waiting for the MSU AD or President to actually say "FBS" but then state you are willing to offer James Madison who to my knowledge has never publicly stated a desire to move up either. I don't doubt they are both doing a lot of things behind the scenes to get this accomplished or we wouldn't be talking so much about both schools. The difference between the two is a very public Carr report in the last couple of years for JMU exploring the possibility of a move. Missouri State has had these types of studies in the past as well. Liberty has been very public for a couple of years about their desire to move to FBS. If transperancy is your only qualifier, Liberty is your best option...
