Why punish the kids who had nothing to do with the decision? How would you feel if it was your school and you had a team with four or five seniors and they won the 28 games, but couldn't play in the conference tournament and weren't selected as an at large?

I'm all for once a school has announced they are leaving to not do them any favors and take care of those sticking around first, but banning? Give me a break.

exactly. You don't do them any favors (no allowing to host tournaments, arrange the schedules to they get the difficult roads, etc.) but the kids did nothing wrong, and you're punishing them.

You punish teams for stuff like that, why would anyone want to be part of the conference in the first place?

If Bankowsky had any balls he'd ban departing teams from our postseason tournaments. Several smaller conferences have done it and CUSA should have done this same.

Teams that are leaving for the AAC helped to make this conference what it is today. You can't punish teams for leaving just because they are trying to better themselves.

Sure you can. The conference is trying to BETTER itself too. And it can't do that with "temporary" participants. IMO, a conference has a right to do whatever is in its' best interest.

By the way, my comments have absolutely NOTHING to do with Tulsa. I like Tulsa, and I think Tulsa is a very worthy champion. I'm simply trying to look at the bigger picture, what's actually best for a conference going forward. Any conference. It's a good debate topic.

This is true, but it will just reduce their exit fees.

RE: Congratulations, Tulsa
CUSA was a tremendous home for us. It's bittersweet.

Both our semi and finals were some fantastic basketball on both sides. I think a casual fan would have found yesterday's final pretty entertaining.
