Can we nuke the EPA?
A report released by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Inspector General has found that EPA employees have improperly used federal charge cards to purchase everything from gym memberships to gift cards. The report indicated that over 90 percent of the sampled transactions were for prohibited, improper, or erroneous purchases, all paid for by American taxpayers. Ironically, Senate Democrats Monday night carried on an all-night filibuster in the hopes of generating even more power and funding for the EPA.

Climate change expert's fraud was 'crime of massive proportion,' say feds

The EPA’s highest-paid employee and a leading expert on climate change deserves to go to prison for at least 30 months for lying to his bosses and saying he was a CIA spy working in Pakistan so he could avoid doing his real job, say federal prosecutors.

John C. Beale, who pled guilty in September to bilking the government out of nearly $1 million in salary and other benefits over a decade, will be sentenced in a Washington, D.C., federal court on Wednesday. In a newly filed sentencing memo, prosecutors said that his lies were a "crime of massive proportion" and “offensive” to those who actually do dangerous work for the CIA.

And the parking around the new arena would work nicely for football tailgating.

RE: Can we nuke the EPA?
It has been a while, but my uncle used to work for the EPA. He was the guy who tested the Ohio River water for carbon tetrachloride back in the day when companies in West Virginia dumped it in the Kanawha. Cincinnati waterworks had to shut down intake valves as the poison passed. He was as conservative as they come - you know a member of the John Birch Society, protested at abortion clinics, that kind of thing.

I'm not sure how government purchase card (gpc) abuse relates to the EPA's mission. This is a weird connection being made here, as if the "climate change guy" is automatically evil because he's the climate change guy.

The gpc has set rules and a ridiculous mountain of training to go through. An approving official is on the hook if they allow inappropriate purchases.

Personally, I don't want to be China. I don't want their air, I don't want their water. Not sure why you want to be China, either.
