New Orleans
Biloxi

Nashville
Birmingham (although not really a neutral site, obviously)

Anyone have any other suggestions? I'd even throw Little Rock, Arkansas as a somewhat central locale as well.

But if it must be played, it needs to be in a centralized location who's population really appreciates basketball. Folks who love basketball will turn out to support a tournament. CUSA is unique in that it's geography is too dispersed. Fans aren't going to travel across the country to watch a basketball tournament. Perhaps CUSA should expand in basketball and hold two, geographically-sensible tournaments. I don't know the answer to the problem. Just my thoughts.

I don't understand why people always slam the conf tournaments that determine the conference champion. All sports at all levels determine their champs by tournaments aka playoffs. HELL even 1-A football is FINALLY on board.

I hope UTEP and El Paso change their minds about hosting again next year. THEN we'll see what cusa will do with no one else bidding for it. Maybe then they'll try to find a high school gym in the middle of the conference to have it so all those whiners can just shut up.

Man, you guys are worst then women. It must be hell being related to you with all your whining. Even if it was in your own back yard you'd probably skip the whole thing but it seems it's more fun to just cry about it.

That said, I don't understand why everyone bashes El Paso as a city. Yes, I understand it's hundreds, and in some cases a thousand, or so miles from other conference cities, but as a city I've been there a number of times and always found it interesting with plenty to do and lots of places to explore. I've always enjoyed my visits.

And oh its fine, if we get knocked out early we have plenty of programs that will fill the seats..

I guess it was over your head

We will be fine without them to be honest.
With 4+ other tournament teams still in the conference we're just fine.

4+??? you'll be lucky if smu gets in. After louisville leaves, it is all down hill for the rest of the conference

Connecticut
Cincinnati
Memphis
SMU is only getting better.
and in good years one from the rest will get a bid.

lets say in a crazy world we only got 3.
thats still light years ahead of CUSA.

I don't think CUSA has EVER got 3 teams in.. 03-lmfao
Best of luck though ..

UCONN, Cincinatti, and Memphis going to the NCAAs isn't exactly a mind blower. They are all solid programs who have a history of going. So using those schools and acting like you've made some brilliant revelation in your argument doesn't really fly. Those three schools will most likely continue to dominate just as they always have. Adding some schools that have no history of ever winning against those programs doesn't equate some other Murica school getting a 4th or even 5th bid. 03-lmfao

You and several UTEP fans are far too defensive about this issue. Nobody (at least none of the reasonable people) is saying UTEP --or the City of El Paso-- did a bad job. Let me repeat.....NOBODY IS SAYING THAT!!! To the contrary, from all I can see, the city of El Paso and UTEP did a great job of hosting this years tournament.

But that's not the point.

The issue is location. El Paso is a VERY BAD location to hold the CUSA tournament. The epicenter of the conference is at least 1,000 miles away from El Paso. It's closest conference member is at least 500 miles away. And that's the CLOSEST member. It's absurd to send this many schools this far away to play in a tournament who schedules its' championship game at 9:30 AM local time.

This is about what's good for the future of the CUSA Tournament, not just what's good for El Paso.

Well...they certainly can't do any worse for the semifinals and final rounds. Consequently, you might as well give some other fans a chance to participate and make it more convenient for the teams traveling.

Im just pointing out how were going to be just fine with the programs we have now. We're going to get 5 teams in this year, thats something CUSA will probably never say again.

Oh and didn't Tulsa just snag CUSA's bid?
If you didn't know they're leaving also..

I promise you, other people will bid for it..
& a high school gym wouldn't cut it, because if they placed it in the center of the conference fans would actually show up.

I have nothing to do with CUSA nor does my team. Have a trash tournament. I could care less. I was just expressing my opinion on it.

The SWAC almost doubled that with 8,058..

It was a close to a failure if you ask me..

The attendance for the championship game was underwhelming. That is the result when the host team doesn't make the finals in the CUSA tournament. Referencing another conference is just trying to stir it up. Prairie View playing Texas Southern in Houston can't be compared to any CUSA city hosting. A reasonable person would realize that. Attendance for the 'ship game noted, El Paso and UTEP did a great job hosting the tourney overall.

Have it somewhere else, that isn't in El Paso.. and attendance problems wouldn't happen regardless of the host city making the finals.

Last year Tulsa had 7,019 and even that isn't a good place IMO.
Have it even more centered and you will notice a rise.
Thank you for your sincere concern. 03-yawn
Not that that an empty arena wasn't visible on TV when AAC teams were playing during its tourney. 01-wingedeagle

Empty arena? Are you an idiot?
[Image: 2m6rerr.jpg][Image: ev9tgg.jpg]

Iv seen AAU games more packed than CUSA's tournament..

And as of right now there is only TWO conferences to average more than us. 03-yawn07-coffee3

I see you picked pics from a different game. Selective facts.... That is where idiocy often lies.

Ride the LVille coat tails, and speak as if they'll always be there.

I see that Cincy and UConn fans share your enthusiasm. Your efforts are better served in convincing them and not CUSA, on how good your new conference is..... ANd that board is ------} that way.

The three schools I listed made the NCAAs as I said and nobody else. That's the norm as those are great programs and not the conference. Tulsa is irrelevant.
