FWIW Disc Golf is a VERY popular sport. There was actually an attempt to add a 9 hole course on campus a few years back but the supporters couldn't get the funding needed to purchase the goals.

GS already has a few unofficial courses on campus as well. I played them :)

I think GS has a bass fishing team as well that's pretty good.

I am a GSU fan but I think it is really cool that Troy has Rodeo teams. It sucks that they are being discontinued.

95 college teams just competed in a tournament.
Here is a Sports Illustrated report.

Personally could not think of anything dorkier than play running around with a broom between your legs.
But to each their own.
Any weird sport we could add ideas?

Ok, I looked at all 19 slides in that. It's comedy gold. I do wonder about a couple of those. What's the injury report from 7? And what the hell is going on in 12?

What the heck is going on in slide #12?
I see what it looks like, but that can't be.

Mentioning Hockey is a taboo to the Sun Belt. It reminds us of Denver, a hockey school that we got stuck with for 13 very long, very expensive years.

They were very nice and actually fielded decent basketball teams. But they were a private school that played a bunch of strange sports and weren't even close to being a fit.

You know take away the broom sticks and it wouldn't be too stupid of a sport, the rules are fairly realistic. I would be curious to watch a game where they can just run without having to carry a broom

Texas State had a top 20 quidditch team a couple of years ago. I went an watched a couple of matches. The game had elements of rugby, dodgeball, and lacrosse. The weirdest part for me was the Snitch. They had a guy in gold gym shorts running around with a tennis ball in a sock hanging out of his back pocket. The seeker had to chase down this cross country runner and and pull his ball sack to win the game

Thanks for the explanation. That is the most perplexing and amusing thing I've seen online lately, which obviously is impressive considering the Internet's possibilities....

ULM is actually currently the National Champions in Water Skiing and Bass Fishing. The water ski team is dominant and has won now something like 25 of the 30 National Championships since they have been putting the event on. Ski Nautique even has a ULM series ski boat, that of course is maroon and gold.

Not sure if it's a club team or sponsored.
Sounds like might be another South Alabama team.

ULM.

Georgia Southern also has a water ski team. It is a club sport.
