I know our AD is in New Orleans for meetings so by this time next week we may have some movement on a 12th team. Of course it may just be Benson again restating that the Belt wants to go to 12 fb playing teams and another eastern team is the preference.

I don't see any final decisions coming out of these meetings.

I believe we stay at 11 this year. Liberty apparently does not have the votes to join (or it would have happened last year).

Missouri St. would be a good addition. Just don't know if they are interested or not. Benson keeps saying 4-6 schools have expressed interest in the Sun Belt. I know Liberty and Eastern Kentucky are 2 of them. Don't really know who the others are.

From Monroe, 2 hours south on US 165 to Alexandria, then 1.5 hours south on I-49 to Lafayette. How could it get any easier?

The only thing I'd say is that Liberty could have not had the votes last year because of hopes of JMU joining.

If JMU flat out says no (doesn't have to be official or anything), some of those no's could be yes.

Nice work T-Dog. How much of an impact would it make if JMU is #12 vs. Mo. St.?

Exactly. I agree. Last year was about wanting JMU and I think they still want JMU. I believe that JMU has one FBS option and that is the SBC. If they were to say no to the SBC, they go back to the CAA. Then the real fireworks start. I think there will be some very unhappy JMU alumni if they say no to the SBC. Then Liberty will have their vote and that will be very interesting.

I still think even if JMU flat out says no (which I honestly don't think they ever will. They want to keep their options open for as long as possible), Liberty will still be second to Missouri State.

While MSU has not officially announced intentions to move to FBS, I am of the mind that they are positioning themselves for a move.

After them, I think it's a toss-up between EKU and Liberty. Honestly, the best thing EKU has going for it is it's more eastern than MSU, and they aren't named Liberty.

JMU will never say no until they receive their invite of choice. If there are no other invites, things get interesting.

still, I think they feel like they would be more comfortable with the schools that are in the c-usa...NBD let em go there. we should just focus on nmsu for all sports and keep the door open for mostate...maybe uta will surprise everyone and announce restart of football program.

Maybe he's an orthopedic surgeon. There's supposed to be 30,000 of them in town. That's why hotels if available in the Quarter are running $350+
