Sept 13 at Miami (FL)
Sept 20 OPEN
Sept 27 vs Utah State
Oct 4 vs UL-Monroe
Oct 11 at Georgia State
Oct 21 at UL-Lafayette (ESPN2)
Nov 1 at Idaho
Nov 8 vs South Alabama

Our attendance with this schedule will stink up the place.

Six more years, thanks to former commissioner Wright Waters. He signed an 8-year "lame duck" deal three weeks before he retired. And a REALLY bad deal it is!

Georgia Southern - only FIVE home games?
Only team in the conference without back-to-back home games?
What the actual ****?

This isn't a surprise when you sign three OOC away games you're going to have five total home games, blame your AD not the conference.

I dislike back to back home games, I prefer alternating for travel purposes.

This isn't news. We've known for long time there would only be five games at Paulson. We're joining a new conference and moving up to a new subdivision so yes, the schedule is a bit unusual.

However, with two games in Atlanta (where a majority of our alumni live) I see this at the best five home game schedule possible. Not to mention, we get good payouts for three of these away games.

Going to be a tough but entertaining year!

RE: 2014 SBC Football Schedules Thread
  • GaSo is making a lot of money playing 3 FBS OOC away games
  • You have known that for months.
  • No back to back home games make it easier on those attending.
  • You don't play either of Louisiana or stAte this year, or probably next.
  • Two virtual home games in Atlanta.
  • You play Troy at home....maybe a TV game possibility.

Really seems like a pretty good schedule for GaSo. Almost like
having 7 home games and making tons of money, and having three chances to knock off another BCS team.

Not to derail the thread, but speaking of the 2014 schedule...did you know Abilene Christian has higher average attendance than GA State.? Despite playing in a shared high school stadium?

But Georgia Southern is going to make sure that Georgia State meets
the FBS 15,000 minimum for the year by their huge fan rep at their
game in Atlanta. Abilene Christian is going down to GaSt this year.
Am sure they are already saying, Thanks Eagles.

It was not only funny, but informative and relevant. This thread is about Sun Belt Schedules/ who/when an potential attendances there of. - that team is your home opener. An FCS team with a higher attendance average in a High School stadium playing an FBS team in an NFL Stadium! Really sort of amazing.

I agree with you GoApps.. but just to note: Navy wasn't a BCS team.

ACU has a stadium on campus. Just happens a high school uses it too. San Marcos high school uses Texas Sts stadium but that doesn't make it a high school stadium. San Marcos will be opening their own stadium soon though.

The ACU stadium (Shotwell) belongs to the school district. ACU just announced they are building an OCS.
