As a USA fan the last thing in the world you should want is a football program in Pensacola that is any higher than D2.

Just for informational purposes. I can see UWF along with the all of the GSC moving up to FCS within a four years.

RE: UWF introduces community to new football coach
UWF wont do much with their program because UWF is in Pensacola. Pensacola doesn't do big things. Its part of their DNA. Pensacola/FWB has 700,000 people. But you'd never know it from the community amenities and civic planning.

The only thing Pensacola has done a better job promoting than Mobile involves their airport (which was really more of a geographical thing - PNS is just too far for people to drive to New Orleans and the issue with intra-Florida flights).

Still, congrats to the Argonauts in D2. I suppose they could look at moving up to D1/FCS sometime around 2020.

I was born/grew up in/moved back to/now live in Pensacola and I second this message.

The only thing that has changed is that the mayor of Pensacola has been upgraded from a ribbon cutter to a guy with actual authority.
I think the New Boy Network got it pushed through as a way to circumvent the All Powerful Pensacola Good Ol' Boy Network.
A bit of backlash for their greediness losing Southwest's business to Panama City.

In a decade or so, we may see a change in the culture of Pensacola.
But I doubt it.
It will probably still be the same sleepy big/little town it has always been.

Good for the Argonauts.
If South has a bye and they have a home game, I might check one out.
I think they said they will be playing in the Blue Wahoos baseball stadium.
Beautiful place to watch a game.

I'm going to have to sneak over there one day to catch a Wahoo game. That does look like a beautiful park. I wish they would have picked a better spot to build The Hank.
