TXST has lost it's DC, Craig Naivar, to UK. That's just great. Best DC we've had in a long time. He was our DC when we made our NC run in 2005 and came back with Fran in 2011. D has improved every year. Was also a heck of a recruiter.

Second rumor is that we're changing what O we run. No more details for you guys right now. I'll hold onto that as long as I can. Which may not be for long.

How is Fran as a recruiter??? You would think his name alone would bring guys to TXST.

Not especially. His stint/debacle at A&M is still fresh in the minds of TX folks. Then we have Coker to the south of us and UT to the north.

I'd have to say that Naivar and Coach Washington are/were our best recruiters. Not sure Fran does that much of it; to be honest.

TXST is working against a lot of mojo. When Fran left Alabama, the way he left, a lot of people wished him nothing but failure everywhere he went after that. That curse was successful at A&M, hopefully it has worn off and he will return to his TCU success while at TXST.

I forget that Larry Coker is at UTSA. That state has some good coaches at a lot of schools.

Our new offense will potentially involve a new wrinkle to football: The forward pass.

Also, in this new offense, the goal will be to cross the white line past the green turf and into the colored turf (known as the endzone).

That is two SBC D Coordinators taken by SEC teams. UL has lost their D Coordinator to someone in the SEC.

Actually they had originally announced that Cajuns D Coordinator James Willis was going to national champion Florida State as their linebackers coach, but he changed his mind and decided to stay with the Cajuns.

I would expect Fran to pull from names who worked with him at TCU or New Mexico. Most of his current staff had been with him at TCU or New Mexico. Craig had been his D Line Coach at New Mexico (even though Fran hired him away from Rice).
