Any news on a 4th Sun Belt guaranteed bowl?
Benson said a couple of months ago the Belt was working hard to get a 4th bowl guaranteed lock-in. I have not heard anything about this since then.

Is the Belt still trying to get a 4th bowl or is this a dead issue at this point? Is a bowl in Little Rock still even a possibility?

The Cajuns have already accepted an invite to this year's New Orleans Bowl so I'm not concerned about the issue.

For the benefit of this league we must do better at finding places for bowl-eligible teams to go. At the very least every Belt team who finishes 7-5 or better needs to have a spot in some bowl.

I'm sure they are still working on it, hopefully something will be added.

I wish the rules would change that all 7-5 teams get bowl games before 6-6 teams are invited, unless you win your conference. They need to make that change.

They'd still make exceptions for the power conferences even with the rule. I'd rather they be upfront about it.

Last year was a perfect storm. Go skim the standings around FBS and see how many schools finished with three or fewer wins. It was well above normal. Georgia State had two 7 point losses that if they had won would have left the Sun Belt with two fewer eligible teams.

This year we add bowls and the schools that 0-12, 1-11, 2-10, and 3-9'd the year with modest improvement can pare down the number of eligible teams.
