It's named after Vic Bubas, a well-respected former Duke basketball coach and first ever Sun Belt Commissioner. It's not a redneck "Bubba".

You can expect that they will increase their lead if they finish second in both men's and women's basketball, which they are on pace to do.

Depends how things finish. They'll increase over the rest of you losers, but their lead over ASU wont really change since we're leading in Women's and just a game behind WKU in Mens.

I know that the men have three of their last four at home, but you haven't wrapped up third place yet. The women will easily win their championship, but @ Little Rock and vs. Georgia State & the Cajuns is not going to be an easy finish. So easy does it with the "you losers" assessment.

The worst ASU can possibly finish is 4th. If they finish 3rd, its impossible for WKU to gain on us because the Women are going to lock the title up.
Since we're playing this game...WKU is far from a lock to finishing 2nd with games at UTA, Texas State, and Georgia State left along with the home game vs the Cajuns. They could very easily finish 4th.

No worries....our rockbottom finish in m/w golf and m/w tennis will ensure WKU doesn't win the Bubas Cup this year. It's Arkansas State's Cup to win this year.

You've got a huge edge over us because we don't sponsor softball.

I did say "if." No team has guaranteed their spot yet, not in the men's and not in the women's. Georgia State men and Arkansas State women appear to be the most likely to win their respective championships, but the teams behind them still have monumental tasks to hold their spots in the current standings. To me, Western has the toughest games to play, on both sides. Arkansas State has a distinct possibility of finishing second in the men's. What I am saying is, if Western finishes second in both mbb & wbb, we can expect that they will definitely increase their lead over everyone in the league, possibly even Arkansas State. That's not to say ASU won't finish second or third in mbb, but I am estimating that there is a good chance that they won't.

Lol don't care, other people don't know that and when you say the best program in the Sun Belt wins the Bubas Cup it sounds ridiculous. I can want to win it but I don't have to like the name lol.

If WKU finishes 2nd, that would mean they would have had to beat the Cajuns to get there. That puts the Cajuns another game behind ASU in the loss column, making it harder for ASU to not finish 3rd.
There are so many direct games in that battle for 2nd its hard to really even spot who is going to win it.
As for 1st Place. Georgia State and ASU's Women each need 1 win to lock up the title.

We're lucky it wasn't also named for the conference's second commissioner, Jacob Spit. Bubas Spit Cup would be too much to handle.

First year in the league and you have no respect for the ones who founded it. Ok, you are understood.

Here's hoping the men do our part. Will be at the game on Saturday. Will be senior night so here's hoping the combo of WKU and the last game of the year bring a good crowd.
