we said they looked like the players that ULL used to have, and probably still do. Long and athletic. Stetson is just a sophomore and Mariek a redshirt Freshman, so they have plenty of time to mature and be very good players for us.

I believe both are showing signs of progressing. I would like Stetson to have had a redshirt year, and it's really not too late if he was agreeable.
One of our problems has been that we never seem to have enough fourth or fifth years players who are career UALR players. I believe a mid major program, in order to be successful, has to keep players in the program until their junior and senior years. You can't buy experience. We seem to always be rebuilding. We need to get to the point where we reload!

The problem is that with Leroy leaving we need the defensive stopper next season.

Will it be Stetson, or the juco we're bringing in? I guess that will be determined in the offseason and preseason practices. The advantage Stetson will have is that he will be familiar with our defensive schemes and will have two seasons under his belt.
