That is what we will have with Reid. He may show himself capable of a more well-rounded game, but he is being brought in as a shooter. Expect him to average over 40% from the arc for his career here.

RE: Think Nick Zachary
He is averaging 10.0 ppg in 22 minutes/game. He is shooting 49.5% from the arc, and basically 3/4 of his attempts are 3-pointers. He has attempted 12 more 3-pointers than anyone else on the team, and they have several other pretty good shooters.

He also shoots 88% from the FT line, and that is one thing that should not be affected by a move to D1.

I don't see him as a Nick Zachary, but a taller version of Matt Mouzy. Even Steve compared him to Matt. If he turns out to be as good as Matt, we'll be fine.04-cheers

Nick was not just a great shooter. He was a very good all-around player.

He was not at all shy about shooting, and that was the point I was trying to make.

Good shooters are never shy about shooting. Josh has that mentality. If Ben can develop a little more, he can help us tremendously. And as Joe Kleine told me one time, good shooters think every shot is a good shot.04-cheers

A good shot is easy to define. You make it, it's a good shot. You miss, maybe not so good. Obviously an oversimplification. But it's one thing to look for a good shot, and another to wait around for a "perfect" shot. Those don't come around too often. A great shooter makes shots that aren't perfect. And sometimes a mediocre shooter makes an imperfect shot. I think the game winner the other night certainly wasn't a shot that someone would take early in the game. It was a desperation shot that fortunately for Western, went in. For us. Not so fortunate.03-banghead
