Why three point stats can be somewhat misleading.
I recall one time the other night that Kemy took a three, missed it badly, but one of our players got the rebound under the goal and put it back in.
It would be interesting if there was a stat kept on missed three pointers on how often the offensive team rebounded the ball and got another possession or a field goal.

Maybe the guy who figured out the stats for the Oakland A's that they made a movie about, could do a study on things that would blow up a lot of old theories that some coaches still adhere to. Like should you foul with a three point lead and under ten seconds to play, which I think is a no brainer. I'd say it's at least a 95% positive play, but some coaches still don't do it. Or is the three point shot a better percentage option than trying to always force the ball inside for a two point goal and/or a foul.

I might try and keep up with the three pointers in the next game and see how the possession thing works out. Of course much of my theory would depend on good offensive rebounders for the team shooting the threes.04-cheers
