Surprised we won last night
especially without James White and with Will basically a decoy in the last 4 minutes. I still think USA has talent, although I may still be affected by Pappy picking them first. When he made that pick, I looked at what they had coming back and thought it made a lot of sense. What I keep forgetting about is the tenacity of our guys and especially the ice water in Josh's veins. Amazing that a sophomore has so much heart and self-confidence at the end of close games

There is no doubt Josh has that certain something that gives him the confidence to take the crucial shots and not be afraid of missing. He would probably have been a terrific corner back in football, because he has a short memory. Give up a touchdown pass, come back and get an interception. Miss a shot, put up another one. We need more like him04-cheers

Of course, fans being fans, we would all be bitching if he missed some of those crucial shots and/or free throws. Still it is great to have a player like that, and even better that he usually makes them It seems like ages ago, but he did miss the potential winning shot against North Florida. I'm sure glad it didn't get him down.

When you have the guts to take the last shot, you'll make a few and miss a few. The secret is getting to the end of the game with a big lead so you don't have to take those shots.04-cheers

Reading between the lines, I think there has been a culture change at USA, and they are having trouble adjusting to it. Their meal ticket the last couple of years has been Rubit inside, and now they are changing to where even Rubit is shooting 3's. If they get the kinks worked out before tournament time, they could be tough.

It better be soon or they won't make it to New Orleans.
