Tell that to JMU.

JMU has this weird belief that academics need to be in line with their new peers. Missouri State does not have that issue.

Remember JMU's stadium expansion was done by their previous administration.
Take it fan pressure caused that. Their present administration may be talking about
them doing a move five years from now.

RE: Arkansas State to MAC, again
JMU is not a good fit for a southern conference like the SBC. JMU sees themselves at academically superior and a large majority of their students that are not from VA come from the northeast. I'm talking a large majority. Having gone to Liberty which is around an hour and half from Harrisonburg I know several JMU alumni. The 6 or 7 that I know want nothing to do with the SBC. I was told the new president is going to have a difficult time convincing the professors that a move to FBS is in the best interest of the school. Just one person's opinion, but JMU to a FBS conference is not a done deal by anyone's imagination.

If the average student is coming from the NE then affiliating with a Midwestern league is a bit better than affiliating with a southern league, but they would be better off with a NE oriented league and the only choices there are Big 10, ACC, or AAC.

MAC is more NE oriented league then the Big Ten. The big ten has zero NE teams and nobody even close by. Rutgers and Maryland are no where near New England.

MAC - UMass (Buffalo not in NE but close)
ACC - Boston College (Syracuse close, Big Ten split off rest of ACC and rest of conference in North Carolina)
AAC - UConn (Navy close, Temple not close, rest of conference in Texas)
BT - nobody (Penn State and Rutgers kinda)

If MAC adds Delaware and James Madison (maybe eventually Stony Brook), the MAC would be the most Northeaster league (and probably already is the most)

Meant Northeast by NE.
