Lucky ASU had an off-night...
or they might have blown us out. That's what Brady pointed out in his postgame interview. They only shot 39% from the field and 23.8% from behind the arc. It's good they didn't have a good shooting night.

Brady, forever the *******.
Truth is, he is on the hot seat unless he can get to the ncaa's. So, he need to get his team playing like that every night and most nights yo uhave to play teams at full strength.

His point was we haven't been shooting the ball well at home and we haven't . I don't recall him saying it exactly the way it was stated. I will have to go back and check it out again. We did shoot free throws well but we obviously , just like UALR didn't shoot it well overall. The game was won because of our defense.
Yes it hurt I'm sure not having White but we are a pretty short bench. We lost a good player earlier as well . We have 8 players that play very much. One other that is a walk on and another that plays occasionally. WE are dead if we lose another key player.

Brady is like Shields, both very likeable except on the court.

I didn't mean to suggest that Brady was being obnoxious. He was just pointing out a fact. I don't think James White would have changed the outcome, but I think the game would have been more competitive.

Some of us met Brady after a game in Jonesboro a few years ago. He came out near our bus where we were waiting for our players to come out. Several of us went over and talked with him, and he couldn't have been nicer. I don't pay any attention to most coaches behavior during games. Most of the time, it can be totally different to what they're like in real life.

Pretty much. I don't think he leaves after this season, but if we don't make the NCAA's, he'll enter next season squarely on the hot seat...with 6 JUCO signees.

Wait. You guys have a hot seat for coaches in Jonesboro who don't make the NCAA's? We don't know anything about things like that down here in Little Rock.

Our previous AD didn't...but our current AD seems a lot more eager to make basketball good again. In one of our nonconference games against Toledo recently (Top Mid Major team) I watched him walk out of the tunnel in the 2nd half, look up at the sparse crowd, look at the scoreboard and find we're down by 10, shake his head, and walk back down the tunnel.
The key in reality is finding enough booster support to not only buy out Brady's contract, but have enough in the coffers to hire a good coach.
I've said for a while that the only reason Brady still had a job was because football keeps going through coach searches, and Brian Boyer has stunk worse. Well, Boyer's likely going to buy more time for himself assuming the Women's team doesn't collapse. Football just got a nice 1,75 million dollar check from Boise State, and Brady is doing desperate things like bringing in three senior transfers and 6 JUCO players...meaning someone has told him he needs to start winning post haste.

Bring in 3 seniors certainly does not suggest he is planning for the "future".

Brady has done pretty well the last two seasons, the problem most ASU fans have is we haven't won the tournament. Probably our best team was when Finn went down right before the tournament and we weren't the same without him.
Honestly, I figure Both coaches will be back next season. Boyer is underpaid for Division One Coaches, so if he's replaced it will cost two or three times as much or more to replace him.

I agree, I just think that we are going to hold Brady to Higher standards, and that if he doesn't get us in the NCAA's by next year, he'll be gone.
Most ASU fans will not accept just winning enough games to get a decent SBC Tourney seed. In reality, winning means very little if you don't have NCAA or NIT appearances to back it up.

I feel the same way.
You got to be able to make the dance or look like you will soon.
This is our best chance ever. The year we did came out if no where.

The year we won, we had some really good Seniors. Solo, Matt, Alex, and two solid Juniors in D'Andre and Courtney. All could play and all could score. We don't have that this year. Will is obviously a good player, but who else do we have that can compare with the others in terms of talent, or experience? D'Vonte might come close. That's it. No. Our talent, experience and leadership level doesn't compare with that team, although we might have a better record going into the tournament. Ga State looked like a big time team against us, and ASU made us look pitiful. James White will help, but he's a Sophomore and hasn't come close to what he will become in time. From a talent level, I think we could be in the top four or five in the league, but IMO that's about it. Not to say we couldn't win it all. Miracles do happen occasionally, but a betting man always bets on the biggest and the fastest. That's usually the winning combination.

To win the tournament you need a leader and go-to player like Solo. Josh could be that guy, but he is only a sophomore. ASU has 3 senior transfers who are all 5th year seniors. Those guys are men, not kids. I don't necessarily approve of how Brady put his current team together, but it may end up working out well for ASU.

For a program like ours, I think that would be the best also. Just think back. With very few exceptions, our best players have either been jucos or transfers. I know some don't like that approach, but if you want to win, you take an approach that fits your situation. Would I intentionally pass up a really good high school Senior? Obviously not. But we don't have a chance at many of those. Get the best players that you know can contribute right now. If that happens to be jucos, so be it. As a program, you need to live in the moment. Like Scarlett O'Hara. "I'll worry about that tomorrow".
