They will likely lose a bunch next year too, but not as much. In year three....
Just as a point of reference, he recruited this guy:

I don't know how pitched the recruiting battle was between us and you guys, but a 6'11" three-star recruit is a good add. Don't know anything about the kid, but that is the prototype center in Kaspar's system.
Make no mistake, I don't expect TXST to be doormats much beyond this year.
In 2015 we will be competing for the conference title. Kaspar will have had his two growing years. The guy is one of the best coaches in D1.

Brandon Edwards with his tenth rebound, now has nine double-doubles on the year. He was tied with Augustine Rubit, who has 14 points and eight rebounds, but playing with four fouls.

Unquestionably. The only thing I can take solace in with your hire is that Coach Cross is 8-4 all-time against Kaspar.

Antoine Allen hits five threes en route to 18 point. Barrington Stevens and Augustine Rubit add 14.

I don't get it in basketball with such a small roster, and the likelihood that Freshmen play right away how come it takes 2 years to turn around a program.
But then again, I'm ignorant on basketball in general, so it's not strange that I don't get it.

I do love beating UALR like a drum. Men and Women combine to win by 60 tonight. One of those games that makes you feel better about yourself for at least one whole day.
On to ULM.

It is more of an issue of depth, especially with the way Kaspar coaches. At SFA, he had 8-10 guys who could be starters and they played quite a bit. After that, there were guys who could still play.
This year is likely to be the lumps, with virtually no guys that fit what he does.
Next year he will get a couple of good folks, but they will be young, inexperienced and in need of rest. Much of the rest of the roster will still not be the right fit. They will likely be competitive and many wins will be surprises, but will still be short the full compliment of his guys. (winning percentage of .4-.5)
The next year, he will have more of his guys, more experienced players who fit and get what he does. They will be competitive from the gate, but won't surprise either, and that won't harm them. Texas State probably never drops below .500 until his tenure is done.

I don't know. It was on the CW here in Austin. It's the first TXST BB game I've watch in......well, I never have watched one. I could see a lot of things that exposed why this team loses. The least of which was losing possession on bad passes and inattentiveness.
I could "see" that and I'm not even a big BB fan; although I played when I was a kid.

Ya, and that's with about, oh, 500% improvement since the start of the year. He has really had his work cut out for him this year trying to change the mentality of the team. It is finally starting to show, but it will take some more turnover of talent to totally change the style of play. It is quite incredible to see how he has gotten some of the players to change since the beginning of the year. They really are a much better team than in December, but still a long way to go.[/u]
