You can't judge a coach by their speech, but, if that's all you had to go by, Clark falls somewhere between Brown and Callaway.

Hopefully that candidate is just our 3rd or 4th choice, and it would take until Sunday or Monday to get to number 3 or 4.

I liked the guy at SELa (Ron Roberts). Took a team that we clobbered in McGee's first year to the quarters of the D1AA playoffs this year, and was a winner at D2 Delta State. Noticed they just named a new OC there, so perhaps there really was no interest one way or the other.

I'm absolutely baffled by the Jim Grobe lovefest.

Brian Jenkins would be a home run hire, but no one seems to be talking about him.

Jenkins may have some baggage that we don't know about (short fuse, maybe?). He was ejected in the Morgan State game last year, after one of his players was ejected for punching somebody.

i think Jenkins reminds everybody of McGee, he seems to be a little bit of a loose cannon at times

More than one coach on the given lists would be a good hire if the pieces fit together in the next several months. UAB would not be considering hiring anyone who has no record worth taking that second look. Some are better known than others, some are longer shots than others and some have better recent records than others. Coaches with great records and many successful seasons are probably not in UAB's price range. That is why Mackin really has a piece of work cut out for him.
