FCS - comeback win over Georgia Southern in the 2005 quarter finals or the come from behind OT win over SHSU for the 2008 conference title.

FBS - while it's not earth shattering and hardly a signature win (but since we've only been FBS 2 years) I have to go with UH.

Probably going to go with the Houston win, but that's mainly cause at app beating geo south is a way of life

Got a H/H starting next year (2015). They come to SM in 2016 04-rock

Houston was big because it was out first ever game as a FBS team. They had come off a near BCS busting season. Sure they had lost their coach and QB and ended up average that year, but it was still a shock and unexpected win. Heck of a way to enter the FBS world.

LMAO your biggest win is beating a conference team that wasn't ranked with 3 loses and a freshman quarter back making his first start. I would have said beating Tulane would have been bigger for your program you should expect to win some conference games heck all of them for that matter.

tulane and UL-L are our biggest wins so far. which is bigger is subjective.

I will add this comment to all the answers given so far. Other than ULM's biggest win I would be surprised if the question was asked 3 years from now if everyone (other than ULM...going to hard to beat) had the same answer.

Yeah, the Alabama win featured the lowest paid coach in the FBS beating the highest paid coach. The win over #8 Arkansas was huge and was the downfall of that program, even gong into the 2013 season they were still felling the effects from that loss.

We also had a win over #20 Richmond in 1973 ending the nation's longest winning streak at the time. Fun fact: the game was played in Monroe, luck of scheduling.

Have to include wins over Mississippi State and Kentucky, too. Also have several wins over middle tier programs outside the SBC like Northern Illinois, Central Florida, Hawaii, and Southern Mississippi. Just haven't been able to be consistent at doing that all the time.

For TROY, I would say it was our 2005 win over then 17th ranked Missouri. They had Brad Smith as a Heisman candidate. They came to Troy for a nationally televised game on a Thursday night.

Second is probably Oklahoma State in 2007

Third Mississippi State in 2001.

Fourth, 2004 Marshall

I was just about to say Troy/Missouri. I remember watching that game and the fact that it was nationally televised may make it a bigger win (PR wise) for Troy than App/Michigan or Georgia Southern/Florida.

#1. All three NOLA Bowls which we weren't suppose to win.
#2. Beating K-State
#3. Beating a ranked A&M team back in the 90's.

They are only impressive if they are wins against P5 teams that are good or decent.

ULM's win over Alabama for example is impressive. Alabama went to a bowl game.

While the win over Florida may be cool. Florida was terrible so I'd say ULM's win was more impressive.

Classic Cajun 'close but no cigar' would have been Florida the year before.

Only problem with that is geo south wasn't good either, both had injuries and one still had a lot less schollies

My Top 4 in two different categories for Troy:

In terms of current prestige:
1. Florida State 1947.
2. #17 Missouri 2004.
3. Oklahoma State 2007.
4. Mississippi State 2001.

In terms of prestige when we beat them:
1. #17 Missouri in 2004
2. Oklahoma State in 2007
3. Mississippi State in 2001
4. Marshall in 2003

That's just not true. I was at both games. UF was never in control of that game. Kelvin Taylor had two good runs for TDs and that was all UF could muster.

ULM over Bama has to be it. Even though Bama lost what, 5-6, to beat a bowl Bama at their place is crazy.
