If the Hogs can beat Kentucky
we should be able to beat Western. Anyone who loves basketball had to love that game tonight. My college grandson was watching with me and when Qualls came in for that amazing dunk to win the game I thought he was going to go crazy. I thought Anderson really made a bonehead decision not to foul at the end of regulation with a three point lead and around 8 seconds left. When Kentucky hit that three to send it to overtime, I thought it was over for Arkansas, but give them credit. They beat a team with probably at least four NBA first round picks with a lot less talent. Even though it was a home game, it will help their resume if they can win a few road games this year. They could even make the big dance. Long way to go however.

Let's compare apples to apples. Our road game at WKU with hogs road game at UK. I'll be ready to compare home games when we have 18,000 people in the stands cheering for us (actually I'd be fine with 5000). UK lost last year in the NIT to Robert Morris. Playing on the road is hard. Lucky for SEC teams they rarely do it against nonconference opponents.

If comparing scores is pointless, comparing these games is even more so.

Definitely pointless. Other than WKU has more or less been the UK of the Sun Belt conference.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
There isn't a chance in hades they are making the NCAA tournament. They played no one in nonconference, cant win on the road, and already lost a home game in league play.
I have them on the NIT Bubble right now.

Scotto should be taking this, but I'll sub for him. First all you're right. They played an easy non conference schedule. But they won by large margins in a number of them. Second, they've only played one game on the road, so it's a little early to say they can't win on the road, and the conference road game they lost was to a probably Final Four team, so you might just be a little premature. Obviously I can't say they'll make the NCAA, but I think they're a lot closer than some think. And with a little luck on the road, they could just squeeze in. And let's be honest.
They have a lot better chance than ASU or UALR to make it, unfortunately for us. And to at least acknowledge your point, they could lose the next two on the road, and probably be out of the race, but who knows. If they keep growing as a team, they could be pretty good this year.

The only evidence we have is that Anderson is 2-23 on the road at Arkansas. The 2 wins were against Auburn who they don't play on the road this year. He was 1-8, in league play, his last year at Missouri. So the evidence that he can't win on the road is there. On the other hand, as bad as the bottom of the SEC is this year, even I'll be shocked if they don't win 2-3 road games. I'll admit they looked very good last night. However, I guarantee those 3 freshman who stood and stared at the last shot, instead of boxing out, won't ever make that same mistake again. Learned a tough lesson the hard way.

They haven't won a road game outside of Auburn in 4 years. They just lost by 16 to an A&M team that lost to North Texas by 20 points, and UNT is desperately trying to fire their coach because they are so bad.
They have the following road trips left this year
Missouri
Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Tennessee
Georgia
LSU
Mississippi State
Alabama
You can pretty much scratch Missouri, Vandy, and Kentucky off immediately. They have a notoriously bad record against Miss State and Georgia on the road, and Tennessee is no cupcake.
I could see them maybe winning one or two road games...but with as weak as the SEC is this year, and with a home loss to Florida already out there...I don't see that being remotely good enough for the NCAA's.

We should be able to beat most any mid-major team we play, I'd say at least half the time, if we have a good program. And we should be able to upset some of the big boys occasionally, or at least not get killed every time.

If the Trojans can win at Western Kentucky, the hogs should be able to win at Kentucky. Good luck on that.
