On the way home from the TXST game about 7am on a Sunday morning the drive through line was wrapped around the block and about 10 cars parked and while waiting for my son to come out with our donuts everyone coming out had 2, to 4, and more large boxes of donuts.

I love Shipley's but Round Rock has a different taste and probably 25% larger...they have a orange look to them. We don't have a Shipley's at home but most SBC cities do (don't know about the new additions) and while I would take them over most donuts...the last time we tried them (Monroe La) they were too greasy. I love glaze and about all I will buy.

I will try out Meche's later this month when we head down for the game with the Cajun's

Meche's donuts are awesome. If you ever find yourself in Crowley, Louisiana, try Ruddock's donuts on the Court Circle. Different favor than Meche's but equally as awesome.

What's up with the yellow stuff. Looks like gnat butter.03-puke

It's not yellow more of a burnt orange and I assume it has that look because Austin and UT is just down the road.

The donuts are very good and not as greasy as they look or Shipley's when they are hot. It could be the case of something tasting great because it was new and if you ate them regularly ...not so good. But I don't think so...not with the line of people waiting for them at 7am on a rainy, cold, windy, Sunday morning.

I did take a rather odd turn didn't it? It ended with a debate on donuts! No wonder why the second fatiest country in the world. Thank you Mexico!

SO let me get this straight, average threads devolve into name debate threads, but a true name thread can't stay on topic and devolves to a topic on fried pastries. Gotta love the Fun Belt.

Seriously dude, do you have to be a prick on everything I say? We get it you don't like me or UTA or any sport that isn't football. But going out of your way to shoehorn it in to every post I make is getting out of hand. My god your ***** must be tiny.

BTW UTA vs. UL-L in every sport: 4-2 and UTA, without football and women's soccer is still ahead of Louisiana-Lafayette in the all-sports standings.

I've been planning to go to the UALR/A-State game in Jonesboro on Saturday, but my kids keep begging me to take them to this dang Monster truck show in North Little Rock instead. They push me to take them to every single football game, but they rather see some dang monster trucks than a rivalry basketball game.

And yet, very few people care about minor sports outside of football, basketball and baseball. So congrates on your win in volleyball.

Not gonna lie... I don't care about any sport other than football (probably a good thing I'm not in charge).

And maybe that'd be different if we fielded a decent basketball team in the last... decade or so.

Kind of reminds me of the pig fans around here being big track and field fans lately. I wouldn't brag about a college sport that actually loses money for the athletic department.

If you are going to field it, why wouldn't you try to win. I take pride in any UTA accomplishment (and not just in athletics). Last year, winning the cross country meet meant as much as winning the baseball championship. That wouldn't change if we had football either.

Were I an alum from Fayetteville, I'd take pride in their track and field program too. It is probably the best in the country.

Of course it’s great to be competitive in every sport. But for most programs that operate on small budgets, football is a huge drain because you are losing money unless you can find a way to break even. For UL, they would have to average 27,000 in attendance per game to have a shot a breaking even and sell over 12,000 season tickets this past season. For programs that don’t have football like UALR and UTA, you don’t play football so you are not spending $4.5 to $5 Mil annually on football operations. That is something you have not experienced as an adult, unless you are over 30 years old now and actually watched UTA football.

It’s great those female and male athletes have the opportunity to compete in sports like swimming, diving, bowling, golf and other minor sports. That fact is, the majority of college fans could care less because football drives the wagon at most FBS programs. And they view minor sports as simply mandatory by the NCAA. It’s been proven winning football and basketball programs actually attract students to your college campus. Minor sports play little to not role in building the sports reputation for a university. No one cares you have a great gymnastics program or swimming team.

Tell me again that you guys do not play basketball in the equivalent of a high school gym. I was lauding your recent accent in basketball was told as much. Additionally the person telling me this is usually pretty well educated on basketball and was of the opinion your coaches son, and NBA prospect is one of the main reason for your success and his departure will bring your program back to the norm whatever that may be for GSU.

What's the norm for GSU...

about 12 wins 16 losses
or getting to .500 once every 10 years

Don't go mistaking the norm for...one game. As ULL and the rest of the conference should know by now beating Western during the season..most of the SBC schools "super bowl" win

isn't that easy later in the year.
