Which is exactly what he was saying.

Not quite. The same amount of crap is still there. You just learn to tolerate it.

I was pleasantly suprised when McGee left. And not upset at all.

Most UAB fans were happy...........I have not run into one person (fans or media) that was upset at Louisville taking our coach. Some were mad about the timing though.

The money makes it tolerable until you can make the job better. If the job doesn't get better by the time the money ends, it has become past time to leave anyway. Employers don't fork over extra cash with hope I maintain status quo.

We're in a deeper hole, but the UAB job has much more upside. And I don't think Clark will have as hard a time as Callaway or McGee because it sounds like he is a better coach in many respects.

Let's also remember we're not trying to compete in the $EC, but friggin' CUSA, a terrible football conference.

And we lost 3 games last year on literally the last snap of the ball.

All with a dilettante coach and a rash of injuries like I've never seen before.

+1 I'm not going to make win/loss predictions yet, because I always get burned on them and it's way too early anyway. But you could easily see several of our games going much differently with even marginally better coaching decisions. That's not a stretch.

RE: Bill Clark new UAB Coach?
Another thing to remember is that not EVERY Big 5 team has 15 to 20 ESPN Top 200 players (4* & 5*) coming in every year. For instance, it is possible that the Vandy coach did a better job with his available talent than the Bama coach did with his in 2013. There is probably a significant overlap of a few SEC teams (for instance) and a few C-USA (for instance) teams in regard to their talent among "starters". As one progresses down from starters to the "off the bench players", the difference is likely to be more manifest between teams as the 2nd half of a game is played out.

Look at how many times UAB played close games with SEC teams and others of that "group of 5" over the years but were not quite able to "close the deal" at the end.
