Certainly in my lifetime.

I don't know of any other rotation that is in Cooperstown. Well we do have to wait until 2015 for Smoltz.

Didn't the Mets have some all star rotation? Seaver, Ryan, etc?

Nolan Ryan wasn't Nolan Ryan until he was traded by the Mets. His first big season was with the Angels. At first glance Gentry, Koosman and Sadecki had really good years, but hitting was still down at that point.

Nolan Ryan didn't learn control until he was traded by the Mets. But he was always Nolan Ryan. He was even more so with the Mets. He was just wild as hell at times.

Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Kevin Millwood, Danny Neagle, 1998
Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Steve Avery 1993

2 of the best rotations in the last 25 years of baseball

The core 3 guys of the 90's Braves teams made me a braves fan growing up. I think the other thing was that those three were loyal to their team when it was becoming ever so popular to push free agency and move around on a yearly basis.

Loved the 93 rotation. My all time favorite.

1971 Orioles were impressive.

The closet comparison to the early-1990 Braves might be the 1951 through 1956 Cleveland Indians rotation.

I’ve always like Smoltz, his style reminded me of Bob Gibson.

These guys weren't taking "home town discounts". They got paid.

I was too young to know what happened, but did the Cubs not offer him enough, or did he just not want to stay? If it's the former, then for shame

I got the feeling Maddux wanted to be on a winning team.

Braves' pitching coach was phenomenal. I'm surprised his approach hasn't impacted baseball more.

do we really know if Mazzone was a great pitching coach? After maddux, glavine and smoltz, he went to baltimore and accomplished nothing before retiring. It's like Dave Duncan in St. Louis. Was it the man, or the talent/organizational philosophy?

I would have to agree with you on this since we will not see anything like this in sometime in the MLB and Atlanta will for sure not see anything like that rotation in a long time!!!
