I love following the recruiting trail and one thing I've notice SEC does differently than any other conference is they stack up on the line positions. A Majority of their offers are to DE, DT, OT, OG. Again it was an observation I notice to stand out. With that said what makes a conference more superior over the others.

Is it Geography?
Line Depth?
Speedy Athletes?
Fan Support?
Facilities?
Coaching Staffs?
Etc.

If you had to pin success on one factor which one do you think is the most important that makes a league more competitive than another. Basically what is the one common denominator the top 3 conferences have over the others.

Of those you listed, I'd rank them as follows:

1) Fan Support
2) Coaching Staff
3) Facilities
4) Speedy Athletes
5) Line Depth
6) Geography

Nothing is more important than fan support. I'm talking about big donor, season ticket buying, game attending supporters.

1. Line Depth
2. Speed

You MUST have great facilities to attract the best recruits.
You MUST have good coaching to develop those recruits.

The thing that separates the SEC from all other conferences is speed and athleticism among the big uglies on both sides of the ball. Everyone has skill guys.

The other two factors are non-factors. You can't do anything about geography and if #'s 1-4 are good fans will appear.
