Why is it necessary for you to always play the devil's advocate with anything regarding Mick Cronin.

It's a UC board and to certain degree- there's going to be a fair amount of koolaid sipping and atta boys when it comes to our guys. Especially a hometown guy like Mick.

Deal with it.

Offense means very little if he gives up more points than he creates.

The way the game has advanced, basketball has become much more about team defense. The isolation game where individuals get abused isn't nearly as common these days. Team defenses are too good for isolation and therefore spacing has become paramount in trying to counteract these team defensive concepts.

Because of this, length matters important on the perimeter. It helps shrink passing lanes. But its far more important on the interior for rim protection. A small, quick point guard who can get underneath the opposing point guard and get an offense out of rhythm can provide a lot of value, especially if he offers speed to rotate and interrupt passing lanes.

I don't know what type of defense Jenifer will provide, but his size won't eliminate him from being a part of a good defensive team. If it did, I doubt Mick would have recruited him.

UC offers 6-6 190 SF from TN:

Quote:The scholarship offers for ... South Side rising senior Malik Hicks continue to pour in.

Hicks, who helped lead the Hawks to the Class AA state championship in March, is now up to 10 scholarship offers.

The latest two offers came from Cincinnati and Oakland within the past week.

Those two schools are added to offers that have already come in from Louisiana Tech, Western Kentucky, Southern Miss, UT-Chattanooga, Ole Miss, UT Martin, High Point and Oklahoma State.

Hicks averaged 23.6 points, eight rebounds and three blocks during his junior season...

Both the OSU board and WVU board indicate that Esa Ahmad was visiting UC yesterday. The OSU board said the visit wasn't set in stone and I've read nothing that said the visit took place. Is UC still in the running for Ahmad? I didn't think we were still in the running.

Solid handle and can finish, my only concern being his 3 point and freethrow shooting is woeful. He has play making potential and is athletic, I suppose you could do a lot worse.
I notice the high school forwards still on the board for us, are a bit slower. Might be worth it to take this Juco and get a top notch wing later, you figure with Sanders leaving this year, Thomas leaving next year, you'd probably have to take a JUCO wing anyway.

Strange, none of the recruiting websites have him as a commit. Could be that they're waiting to see who else they can get at that position, could also be that these sources are wrong, who knows...
