That's a more than respectable showing by the Rockets.

Didn't notice much arrogance but they can sure move well.

Some stats that stand out:
UT was out rebounded 44 to 28.
KU had 18 TOs to 8 for UT.
UT had 10 steals to 4 for KU.

Toledo is right at the top of the MAC right now. They got balanced scoring and a couple go to guys. Few teams have that.

To say the least... We just scored 83 points vs. Kansas, and will certainly average over 80 in the MAC.

Kansas is 116-8 at home under their head coach. Toledo shot 56% from three, and stayed in it with a team 3 inches taller at every position. Toledo will have to be worse than 9-7 in the MAC to be knocked off their 12-1 pedestal of (right at the top).

I know what you meant wasn't a knock on UT, but (right at the top) is kind of a given.

Don't we play 18 MAC games this year?

congrats on your loss but let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Toledo will most certainly have some competition during conference play.

let's not forget that Ohio also lost by 10 to a much better Ohio State team and scored more points on the Buckeyes than any other team to date while holding them to just 40% shooting overall and 27% from 3. The 10 point margin is also the closest for all but 1 of OSU's games so far.

Toledo has yet to register a win over a team with a top 100 RPI while several MAC teams have and Ohio has already notched 3.

Not trying to take away anything from your high profile loss but Ohio, EMU, Akron, Buffalo, etc. are not going to just step aside and give Toledo the crown. Good luck.

One difference between non-conference and conference play is scouting. MAC coaches have seen Toledo before. That tends to balance things out. Then there is the MAC refs which are always a wild card. In MAC play you need a deep bench because the games are usually a foul fest.

One plus from last night inre: depth is our bench went four deep and outplayed the starters. One negative was our bench outplayed our starters. I'm nowhere near ready to take the MAC crown to Toledo for early display. We'll be good but how good is anyone's guess. Agree with perimeter that OU's signaturr loss is every bit as our signature loss.

5 key games for the Rockets:
1/8 @ WMU
1/18 @ Akron
1/26 vs. Kent
2/1 @ Ohio
2/15 @ EMU

There are a couple others sprinkled in there that have the potential to be tough too. I see at least 3, maybe 4 losses during MAC play. They won't run the table.

No way we win out in the MAC. We could be 11-7 or 15-3 but winning out would assure us of an at large and that won' t happen. The big plus is we've played well on the road.

I think the buckeyes would be hard pressed to come out of Allen Fieldhouse with a win over the Jayhawks. 116-8 at home does not come as a result of a lot of smoke and mirrors. I do agree that the MAC will be tough for any team to run the table. Whoever is healthiest and playing their best ball in March will advance.

In agreement.

Ohio State has the ranking yes, but they are not better than KU. Ohio State needed a miracle to beat Notre Dame- a team that lost to the same North Dakota St team Bucks beat.

I will agree the UT-OU game will have huge implications but I wont go to say that OSU is the "better team".

KU's played a much tougher schedule.

no slight intended, was looking at records, no doubt Kansas is a tough team. Regardless, even saw a tweet from Dicky V about Toledo last night, good to see the press for a MAC team.

There is such a gap between really good major conference talent and MAC talent. EMU and UT have good MAC talent, but these games are mismatches.

home court and homer refs make that gap appear larger than it is.

Agreed !!!
Make o$u play at the Convo, or KU at Savage, the games played would be interesting, and not really much of a mismatch.
