Terry Mohajir ‏@TerryMohajirAD 1h
I'm excited to announce Blake Anderson as our new head football coach! More details coming soon @AStateRedWolves & https://m.facebook.com/AStateRedWolves?i...eRedWolves

from South Carolina, US

Yeah, Terry needs a little help with this whole Twitter thing.

I guess that does tell us that Morris gave us the time of day.

Lets see if he makes a comment about staying more than one year...

Seems like a good hire, don't know much about him. I know some Baylor folks I know weren't too keen on your interest in Montgomery.

Montgomery apparently is one of those guys who just doesn't have a coaching itch. We never got very far with him.

Morris pretty much had agreed to sign on the dotted line from what I have been told, but his family overruled him. They wanted to stay in Clemson. Norvell never wanted our job, but did want a raise at Arizona State.

Anderson wanted the job, and actually agreed to wait it out knowing we were interviewing a guy we liked better just a few hundred miles away. That's some commitment.

He makes $1.3M a year. He can sit where he is at at $1.3M and eventually Clemson will have an 11 or 12 win season and he will get what he wants from a P5 program.

That was my understanding on Montgomery too. He seems to like being out of the spotlight that a HC postion would have. He is comfortable in his postion as a coordinator behind Briles who is also anti spotlight. If he goes anywhere it will be following Briles. They have worked together since their time at Stephenville HS.

Congrats on the hire. Not surprised another quality coach wanted the job. Good luck going forward.

If I understood Terry M....the contract carries buyout of $3 million for the first 2 yrs. Then $2 M for the next 2 yrs, and $1 M for the last year.

If he goes anywhere the next two seasons AState cashes a $3 million check.

That's good. Sounds like he a good coach but not too good yet and doesn't have any ties if the unexpected happens where he can be a head coach at NC.

If Ga. Southern has to hire a new coach within the next month I hope bigtime that we put some big buy-out in the contract also. To my knowlege Monken has no buy out at all in his contract.
