We were told early on it was a minor thumb injury. Now it "was torn out of joint".

The "injury" doesn't explain the one good game he had.

Trigger thumb was one of the most debilitating injuries I have suffered through. I can't imagine trying to play with it, even if I was 21 years old.

Just so we all remember correctly, Purifoy averaged 4 points and 1.5 rebounds as a freshmen. We may have seen potential, but it isn't like the guy was lighting the world on fire then either.

He did hit the big game winning 3 at USM a couple years ago. Following him on twitter, he always has positive things to say about the team and is excited when we win even though he's been barely playing.

I have nothing against his attitude and how he's carried himself, but he hasn't lived up to his potential on the court.

He made a three pointer at Hattiesburg that I'll never forget.

If Coach Haase and his staff continues the upward trend, then I have full confidence that they will address SOS issues. Let's let them get a winning season under their belts and enjoy the fact that we have started out our season by winning 9 out of 11. We keep wining and the rest will take care of itself. GBG.

completely agree…when the schedule was made, CJH had no idea how we'd be this year. when you take the same players that had a losing season last year and sprinkle in some new folks, the hope is that those new folks push you over the hump to respectability. but until you actually play, you have no idea how those guys will mesh.
it would have been a disaster to put together a tough schedule, struggle to blend the new guys and flirt with a 3rd straight losing season.

i hope next years schedule is more challenging, but i certainly don't blame them for this years weak one

Next year's schedule is already more challenging. We have UNC, LSU(hopefully) and the 3 games in Atlantis. Those 5 games trump this year's OOC schedule no matter what we fill it out with. I'm hopeful that Haase can get a couple more home and homes set up with decent teams. If he can, we're in great shape to have opportunities at big wins.

I am a big fan of Purifoy he appears to be a good man. During the Mocs game, he was one of the first guys off the bench.

He went to the basket strong twice but didnt finish and was taken out.

I have said before, Purifoy is a ball player without a position. He cannot guard out on the floor.

He play better when guarding the 3 and 4 but we have better options at those spots.

Purifoy is a role player without a role, his time to make his mark and find his place in the rotation has passed, heck even the freshmen Madison got more minutes the Purifoy.

Lets face it, the coach is trying to develop the players who are going to contribute now and in the future.
