On the bright side. How many other Sun Belt Schools can claim they got played for a raise by Mike Norvell, and got enough buzz on Twitter that the top offensive coordinator in the country making 1.3 million per year had to answer questions about the job opening in the press?

There were three OCs in the Sun Belt who did that too ...

I think he was talking about this:

http://coachingsearch.com/article?a=Six-...s-per-play

I was high on Anderson as soon as he emerged. Three out of the last four years in the top 20 offenses. Turned a walkon QB into one of the best in the nation. Broke all kinds of records at UNC last year. Runs the offense we prefer.

Excited to see the staff he puts together!

That is a strong hire. I think he's better than Harsin. He almost got the USM job last year.

RE: Blake Anderson: New Arkansas State Head Coach
Arkansas State: A source close to the situation has confirmed with CoachingSearch that despite speculation this evening, North Carolina offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Blake Anderson does not have an offer from Arkansas State at this point. A different source tells CoachingSearch that Arkansas State officials are making a run at Clemson offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Chad Morris, tonight. If Morris declines, Anderson could emerge as the guy as early as tonight, but any information right now suggesting that he will be the head coach at Arkansas State is just a guess.

I really don't know what to think, but I have sources claiming Anderson is the guy

As I said, Norvell would have played any other Sun Belt program the same way. He had no interest in coaching a program in this conference. It's amazing what trivial things become a badge of honor. Now, let's see if Anderson can build and run a program.

Congrats stAte. I sure wouldn't want to see the Cajuns go through what you guys have gone through these last few years with the coaching turnover. Hats off. Only a top-quality program could consistently win under those conditions and your team has done it.

I like Morris, but I do not want have to change this thread. Lets just get Anderson signed.

In the last hour, 5 separate media sources have backed off the Anderson to Arkansas State rumor. All are now claiming that it will be Anderson or Chad Morris.

Crazy search

No coach has been offered the Arkansas State Job yet. Maybe tomorrow

Id like to thank SBNation, football scoop, North Carolina Rivals, North Carolina Scout, and Sporting Life Arkansas for messing with ASU fans heads for an entire 4 hour span.

I am trying to figure out what happened:

Either
1. Football Scoop jumped the Gun, and Anderson is the most likely coach, but hasn't signed yet,.

2. We were about to go offer it to Anderson, but then Chad Morris jumped back into the fray, and Anderson is back to waiting

3. Anderson pulled his name when he heard we were talking to Chad Morris

For our sake...I hope its 1.

Quote of the night from the Sports Director for KAIT in Jonesboro. Who has sent photographers to the airport on two separate occasions expecting a head coach arrival

Well, football scoop jumping the gun sort of is. We know now that the UNC AD is the original source leak, and he may have done it to hurry us up, or because he assumed an offer was coming.

We also know that we have been meeting with Chad Morris most of the evening. Some speculation is that Malzahn and Freeze are both trying to help us out. Though that is speculation.
