Very early predictions for the 2014 SBC Champs
Who does everyone think will win the conference next year! (I was tempted to leave Ga Southern off just to try and deflate their egos some )

RE: Very early predictions for the 2014 SBC Champs
I've got Troy on up there... We being back a lot of guys... And some seriously good talent to replace Corey at QB... At the very least a bowl season in 2014. But that's JMO.
Prediction.... Larry Blakeney goes out with a bang.
Last season I predicted Troy to finish 3rd or 4th... And in our conference Troy finished 3rd so I was pretty much spot on... But just 1 game shy of my 7-5 prediction

I voted South Alabama to win it all but if you had asked who would finish second I would have picked GS

You do realize we are allowed to compete for the SBC Title right?

Difference is that ASU has won the last three titles.

Can't win it every year.
This coming year will be VERY interesting I think.

Sorry, I should have been more clear with that. That was my attempt at making a joke about how some GaSouthern fans are predicting to win the conference title every year for the next 15-20 years. (that was also a joke)

I know I personally have high hopes for the TxSt offense next year with Lowe being a junior and Jamel James coming off his red shirt year, the rushing attack should be explosive.

Two and a half. We got the better half.

RE: Very early predictions for the 2014 SBC Champs
Troy had only two true returning starters on offense last season, one QB, and one OL, and still lead the SBC in scoring by a considerable margin. We bring most of the o-line and wide receivers back, and all of our running backs. The four JUCOs we received today will make us even better I think.
Where Troy will lose in the title chase will be defense and special teams if they don't get better. So I'm predicting 2nd or 3rd as of right now. I'm not sure Louisiana or Arkansas State will repeat. Louisiana has shown they can get beat (pretty bad at times) and Arkansas State is playing coach roulette again. No guarantee there just because it's worked three times in a row. I think this is the breaking point for ASU.
I'm thinking we might see one of Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, USA, or Texas State take the title this year.

Yes, but by SBC Guidelines, we get 1 and you get 1.

We lose every receiver not named JD McKissic, Every RB not named Michael Gordon, our QB, and our best Defensive Lineman.
We've got a lot of talent ready to come in, but it is hard to predict what we will do without knowing which coach is getting off that plane.

RE: Very early predictions for the 2014 SBC Champs
I had 2014 pegged as a very good year for us over a year ago... And in the past few weeks it has started to look even better...
I'm loving our QB options.
Also Troy couldn't ask for a better schedule.

Defense is going to be the key to Troy. They will score points, regardless of opponent.

So did those who voted for NMSU, Idaho, and GSU think the poll title said "Who will win a game in 2014?"
(I kid! I kid! It's self-deprecating so it's okay!)
Although if the Panthers were to pull that off, I would literally-but-not-literally crap my pants.

I agree...hopefully with bolt in his 2nd year we will see improvement... I think we
Might see some coaching changes at corners too.

No way, no how will I touch this prediction thread this early.
Hell, I don't even know how Jones will recover from his surgery.

I like the Cajuns chances next year. I think they lose three on offense (center, one WR, TE) and two on defense (MLB, Safety) from this years team. Everyone else is back.
