Quote:As of 6 p.m., there were still two commmitments who hadn't yet signed: Safety Terrious Triplett (Holmes Community College) and safety Nate Simon (Golden West College).
The Panthers did lose one commitment: Tim Hill. That may not be a bad thing because Georgia State had two more commitments than they are allowed to sign.
Here is information on the players (provided by Georgia State):
Nick Arbuckle
Led the Pacific Conference (California Community College Athletic Association) with 259.3 yards per game in 2013, throwing for 2,852 yards and 26 touchdowns. … Had 3,774 yards and 40 touchdowns in 2012 … Attended St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, Calif.

Marcus Caffey
Will have two seasons of eligibility at Georgia State … Signed with Kentucky out of high school and redshirted in 2011-12 … Moved from running back to cornerback in the spring of 2012 … Helped lead Grady to an 11-2 record and the quarterfinals of the Class AAA state playoffs … Second-team all-state for Class AAA by the Georgia Sports Writers Association … Honorable-mention all-state by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Taylor Evans
Part of an offense that averaged nearly 500 yards per game in 2013 and blocked for the leading passer in the Southern California Football Association … Also spent one year at Azusa Pacific University … Attended Woodbridge High School, where he was an all-league selection in 2010.

Michael Ivory
Second-team all-conference selection in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) in 2013 … Attended Jeffersontown High School in Louisville, Ky.

Steve Wolgamott
Helped Butler to a 9-2 record and a No. 6 national ranking in the final NJCAA poll in 2013 … Part of an 11-1 team ranked No. 2 nationally as a freshman in 2012.

B.J. Clay
Secondary prospect who played at Dacula High School. ... Had five pass breakups, two sacks and a forced fumble as a junior in 2011 ... Had with 48 tackles in nine games.

Alex Stoehr
Two-time all-state selection ... Named first-team all-state in Georgia's largest classification (Class AAAAAA) by the Atlanta Journal Constitution in 2012 ... Added second-team honors in 2011 ... First-team all-area ... Rated among the top 200 prospects in Georgia by 247Sports ... Three-year starter had a 92 percent blocking grade with 25 pancakes and 20 knockdowns in 2012 ... Derek signed with us out of HS over Kansas. He was here for a year as a WR and played in the blowout over Alcorn State. He had a ridiculous percentage of TDs per touch in HS. Wish he had kept his grades up for us but glad he is getting another opportunity.

Playing in the 'bone - he'll probably have a shot to maintain a high TD/touch rate!

Good highlight reel play by Keaton:

Always hard to tell from field level video but seem like he has a lot of upside. Nice throwing motion. The great thing about January enrollment is having 8 months to work out kinks vs 8 weeks.

When I heard we were recruiting Mr. Arbuckle weeks back, I found his Hudl video.

The play at the 2:40 mark sold me.

Sorry if this is a duplication, didn't see it posted anywhere.

WR Montez McGuire signed his NLI with Appalachian yesterday. He was also offered by South Alabama:
http://247sports.com/Player/Montez-McGuire-32147

CB/FS Jordan Ford verbally committed to Appalachian yesterday, will be signing his NLI today. His final three were App, Temple and BGSU:

Two other JuCo guys on the radar are Rashad Dillard, a DL who has verbally committed but is a May graduate and cannot enroll early. Biggest target remaining is MLB LeGrande Harley, a 3-star prospect who would have a chance to start immediately. He is down to App and USF, should be announcing in the next week or so.

Him plus that receiver you had last year (#2 I think) are going to be nearly unstoppable. If GASTATE plays some defense next year they could win a lot more games than people are suggesting. 0-12 with a lot of close losses means a lot more wins in 2014, at least based on Phil Steele logic. I think it will work out for GSU.

#2 Albert Wilson (6235 career all-purpose yards) has graduated and is likely coming to scouting combine near you. But true freshman Robert Davis is a freak. And we have other WRs coming on. Jagz' offense is also very TE heavy so you can expect and increase in throws to TE's, FB and H-Back. Its going to be fun. I think if we keep our offense on the field and reduce the number of plays our defense is on the field its going to be a complete turnaround. If your defense is playing 70 plus plays per game, you're going to lose more than you win.

USA stopped recruiting most JC WRs a few months ago. McGuire was not one the guys they would have taken commitment from.
Now, Rashad Dillard is a different story. They would very much like to sign him in February.

ASU signed two JUCO guys yesterday. We expect the release to come out tomorrow once the new coach gets settled in.
