I'll be there +8. Any Sun Belt fans (not UL or Tulane fans) that live in NOLA thinking about making the game? Just curious what kind of general fans will be there for the entertainment.

This is why I want a G5 bowl in Atlanta. Way too many G5 schools within 3 hours drive to not have one.

RE: OFFICIAL: 50k Tickets Sold already for NOLA BOWL
Tulane was at about 7500 on friday so my guess 9k range (not counting sponsors or freebies which are over 12k as well). ULL last I saw was probably 26k?

So 21k Tulane to 29k (actual tix, not corporate or freebies) ULL. I bet ULL will be around 45k when they're done and Tulane 20k at this rate.

All I know is what UL has sold through the school so far and that's around 22k. The NOLA bowl gave us an initial allotment of 16k tickets, then we request more and they gave us another 5k, we request more a third time.. and they gave us like 500 and said that was the last allotment that they could give us because the demand for tickets from other outlets was so high.

So we have maxed out our school sales. Last I read from Tulane's boards was they had a confirmed number of around 9k sold.

Atlanta is in the running for a playoff bowl, and rules say that they cannot host another non playoff bowl in the same stadium.

Stupid Georgia State fans don't know anything about fo...wait, what?

This...this is actually brilliant. You see the attendance figures of the bowls, like this NOLA Bowl, with local teams is pretty darn high. Probably even higher than either team's biggest game.

I still don't get why someone hasn't sponsored a Go5 bowl game in the dome. Would like to get a rematch against MTSU in 'DDDAAAAA DDDOOOOMMMMEEEE!!!!!' :-)

Record attendance over 50,000 New Orleans Bowl Tulane v ULL
The New Orleans Bowl announced today that over 50,000 tickets have been sold for the game this Saturday five days before the event. ULL fans are already claiming that Tulane only sold 200 tickets and they sold 49,800. Who should I believe? Seriously that is a great accomplishment by both Louisiana universities and it should be a close interesting game.

We probably could have put this post in the other thread about 50K tickets being sold.

Ark. St. will make up for some of the slack from Ball St. 300 tickets-- not very impressive at all.

I would think Bobby Dodd stadium would be a nice bowl site. Benson needs to get on it.

Atlanta or Charleston would be great for another bowl.

If the dome can't do it that would be a great alternative.
