App State's Marcus Cox 2nd in voting for Jerry Rice Award
PHILADELPHIA — Appalachian State University running back Marcus Cox placed second in voting for the 2013 Jerry Rice Award, which honors the nation’s top NCAA Division I FCS freshman, The Sports Network announced on Monday.
Appalachian State punter Bentlee Critcher tied for 17th in the voting, as Appalachian was the only program with two of the 20 finalists for the third-annual Rice Award.

Im alittle surprised he finished second, don't get me wrong, Im happy as hell that it happened, and he had a great year, but his number weren't "video game" type numbers, I believe around 17 total tds, and around 1200 yds rushing. Anyway, if anything great came out of this horrible season it was Marcus Cox, a true freshman having a breakout season. Cant wait to see what he does the next 3 years.

He had 21 total TDs (15 rushing, 6 receiving), 1250 rushing yards, and about 600 receiving.
